Kinect Diary video add on Sonic Free Riders part 2

I have 2 questions:

1) Kinect requires 6ft as minimum for single player, but can you play SFR any closer than that?

2) Using a bike (instead of board), is it possible to play whilst sitting down?

@verbalizeray 1.) You can technically play as close to the scree as you'd like, but the kinect loses track of you once your less than three or so feet away. 6-8 feet gives you the best though if you live somewhere where that isn't possible, you'll have trouble playing any game, not just sonic free riders.

2.) In theory you can sit on a stool or some other non obstructive piece of furniture, but don't expect to be able to site on a sofa, or lazy boy chair. Standing is your best bet.

I'm asking due to my room is quite restricted, my only option is probably have the Kinect facing sideways going across my TV (in which I can rotate from the stand) rather than on it. If I do place it on the TV, I have the bed in the way (thus the sitting down for bike races query).
