what the fuck are you smoking, ufc 106 was a great card, maybe making forrest and ortiz the main event wasn't the best idea, but their first encounter was epic that's why it had to be a main event...but you must be out of your mind to think that the other fights sucked, kos/rumble, cane/lil nog, davis/saunders, sadollah/baroni... you sure you were watching mma?

You people are fools and buffoons, believing hype, hugging nuts, being comical fan-boys, and avoiding the really talented fighters to instead focus on the most famous. Fedor, GSP, and others....are decent fighters, sure. But pound for pound, the lessor-known Kenneth Allen is perhaps one of the best fighters to ever step into a ring or cage. See some of his fights to appreciate a true master of ALL aspects in the MMA game.
Rashad vs. Thiago is alright but that fight means nothing, the real reason you should watch that card is for Dos Santos vs. Gilbert Yvel now thats gonna be crazy, but i heard its gonna be on the fucking prelims!!?? Paul Daley vs. Dustin Hazelett is another reason to watch this card.
I bet Dana White came up with Houston Alexander's game plan against Kimbo, so Kimbo will get some professional credibility.
By the way Kimbo is a heavyweight, Houston Alexander IS NOT.
Dana White should put Kimbo against Roy Nelson again who by the way is a legitimate heavyweight, LOL. I'm just playing because kimbo is not ready for Roy.
How about kimbo vs Check Congo or any legitimate heavyweight in his prime with punching power.
I honestly still like 108 and I give the UFC alot of props for stepping up and imo still making this a ppv worthy card. Rashad vs. Thiago, Hazellet vs. Daley, Dos Santos vs. Yvel, those all should especially be great fights that night. Considering the UFC puts on sometimes 2 fights a month, this is a damn good card knowing who's on the injured list.
I watch every card at a sports bar no matter who's in it. A lot of cards that looked lackluster ended up having the best fights, though I think any true MMA fan knows that, that's why they have that base to rely on.
The one I watch at, I pay $5. There are some lists online for places in your area that will be playing events. It's really fun with a whole crowd reacting to the fights.
whatever u buy at that place, thats what it cost, the fights are free but u do have to buy something at the place, u cant just show up to watch the fight,
I agree with all of the other fans that are better than dana at business. The ufc should pay the fighters more, give part of their profit away in co promotions, not control production of the ufc, charge less for ppv, and have more free fights on tv. Spending more and making less is always a great idea for a business.
2) Now imagine trying to get "8-10" casual UFC fans who arguably make up the majority of UFC's income to go to 1 house & watch an event where they don't have the bigger names and champions to bring them in. V.difficult.
Also consider UFC 107 was $5 more then the upcoming Pavlik vs Espino fight ($15 more for HD) And there's really no excuse not to drop the price of UFC 108.
$45 split 4 ways ($12.50 each) is not so bad, split 8-10 ways is amazing ($4.50-5.60), but how likely is it really?
1) I'm a fight fan, & the card could be pretty good, but Dana has got this idea (& has been on record about it) that a PPV fight is a cheap night in because you get "8-10 friends over" to chip in and bring beer and etc etc. I'm sorry but I think the "8-10" number is completely overestimating even the most hardcore of UFC fans. How many people even have living rooms that could fit 8-10 people? Including myself I could get 4-6 friends tops, but they'd have to be into MMA as much as me.
@poolboyinla 50 dollars? who watches teh fights alone anyways.......get 4 or 5 friends to throw in on a 50 dollar card......its cheap as fuck idk what u smokin
Well it is a shit card. There a good cards on paper and shit cards on paper....doesn't mean the fights will suck but it still is a shit card on paper and I'm not the least bit excited about 108. 107 and 101 were great cards from top to bottom. 56 and 92 are still the best ones in my book.
lol, not, thats not for like another 5 months or so.109 is randy cotoure vs mark coleman, koscheck vs paulo thigo, antonio rodrigo nogeura vs branden vera,Nate Marquardt vs cheal sonnen, and matt serra vs frank trigg.
Not too pumped about "the battle of the ancient". Randy lost the Vera fight(regardless of blind Cecil and Rosales), Brandon is usually boring as hell, Sonnen is the king of boring(tied with OKami). Looking forward to Rogerio's and Kos vs Thiago rematch. Man am I gonna laugh if Kos gets sucker punch KO'd again:)
Vitor vs Silva should be a good one. First time Anderson faces an elite striker in his career...
What u say is true. When it comes to Vitor and Silva though, the ground game goes to Silva.I see Silva winning by decision cause of the ground.Vitor is hardcore, and hope he wins, but he never goes on winning streaks.I was glad he ko'd Franklin and finally shut up his ignorant fans.Franklin was way overrated.
Vitor was in a bad place for a long time with his sister being kidnapped and possibly killed, but now he seems, according to the footage of his ufc vlogs, in peace with it, and the last time he lost was to Hendo 3 years ago. Vitor was labeled as the BJJ prodigy of carlson gracie at age 19, and was considered then one of the most talented black belts from the gracie camp. Anderson got his black belt fromthe Nog bros after Pride, only a few years ago, Vitor got his over a decade ago...
Oh, thanks. I had heard somewhere that it was Silva vs. Belfort. It makes since, Anderson's last fight was in August and Vitor's was in September. That gives Anderson 5 months and Vitor 4 months to train. I'm kinda disapointed now, lol. I'm not too excited for Couture vs Coleman. And are you sure its Matt Serra? I heard it was Hughes that was coming back. I hope its Serra, he's awesome.
well silva suffered an elbow injury, and needs surgery.idk,i think cotoure vs coleman will be alright,i wanna see what these old dogs still have left in them.yes,it matt serra, hughes is reurning at like ufc 112,to fight renzo gracie, same night as silva vs belfort.
Well that's the problem. Everyone is out, so we have Rashad and Thiago headlining, both got tooled against Lyoto. Now Shogun/Lyoto 2 should be a good war...
Yeah, its too bad that everybody is getting injured. The plus side to that is, they should all be coming back healthy close to the same time since they went out close together, so mid 2010 there should be a lot of awesome fights.
the cards all year have been absoluteley whack ive watched ufc since the start its becoming too much about money and polatics tuf 10 was a absolute fail dana was saying it was the best series hahaha its in the run for the worst series i could carry on all night ....
What? UFC 100, 101, 107 were great cards. Yes TUF 10 didn't come through this year, but that's one thing. I mean, he has put together some great fights with all the injuries he's having. Dana White is great at what he does, and that's putting fights together, especially when others fall off. If you look at all of the injuries, Lesnar, Machida, Silva, St. Pierre, Rampage leaving, he has done very well with all of the fights falling off.
Machidas hurt? I knew about all of the others, but I haven't heard about Lyoto. He did take a lot of kicks against Shogun, idk if that had anything to do with it though.
Machida's not really hurt, but he has a 60 day medical suspension by the athletic committee, and after that he has to train, so we're not going to see Machida vs. Shogun again until like March or something.
Longer than I thought it would be. The next champion we see fight is probably going to be St. Pierre vs. Dan Hardy, and we all know what's going to happen there. There are five main fights that I want to see, Fedor vs. Lesnar, Machida vs. Shogun, Machida vs. Silva, Rampage vs. Evans, and St. Pierre vs. Silva. Because of the injuries, Fedor not signing, and Machida and Silva being really good friends, I doubt we're going to see any of those except for Machida vs. Shogun and Rampage vs. Evans.
I liked TUF 10. There were a lot of good fighters on there, it was pretty competitive. The only bad fight on the TUF 10 Finale was because of Houston Alexander, all of the other fights were awesome. But it was free to watch, so you can't really complain about that one fight sucking.
