If I have to hear Christians on the radio inviting me to their church, why not Atheists with billboards inviting me to their meetings? I really don't see a difference here. The only think I see is that Christians are offended by this, while Atheist don't care when they hear Christians stuff on the radio, in the news or anywhere else.
If the ad hurts anybodies feelings then those feelings deserve to be hurt, its the most inoffensive ad ever. I personally think the ad is stupid and says nothing but then again, I've never had the experience of being surrounded by moronic pious rednecks. Maybe some poor lonely american atheists appreciate the sentiment, in which case good on them.
The only problem I have with it is with a capitalized G-God, it is in effect recognizing the Judao-Christian deity, belying the purpose of the billboard. I would have said, "don't believe in the existence of gods, the supernatural, or religious myths..? "or something to that effect.
In a land of religious nutbars, atheists feel more persecuted than gays do presently. And they are. Compared to the threatening Christian billboards seen around the US countryside, this sign is a friendly, inclusive, breath of fresh air.

He gave many rules specifically to the Jews to insure we could all be saved; it wasn't a unimportant, hope it will turn out ok plan. These rules don't apply now as our savior has come. In fact, I think you will find that most hard core career scientists believe in some kind of God.

I think the billboards are a great idea. It is very difficult selling a product without advertising it. I think it is important to step away from the form of advertising that religions or 'McDonalds' take - aiming a great deal of it at children. I think their slogan must be - get' em by eight or it's too late.

While I dislike billboards that say things like "You know there's no God..." since they do nothing intentionally draw hostility towards atheism, billboards like these are great. They don't seek to anger anyone, they just raise awareness of the philosophy, and help those that are otherwise unable to share their views without fear of persecution. Alas, apparently the mere existence of atheism is enough to piss enough theists off that authorities cave to the pressure.
Its important to be able to send children the message that they don't have to believe whatever retarded fairy tale their parents throw at them. There was a very similar billboard that went up around where I live. It had the same background, but it read "Are you good without God? Millions are." Needless to say (unfortunately), it came down pretty quickly. The sad fact is that atheism isn't generally acknowledged in mainsteam America, so theists are shocked and surprised when atheists do something public like this.
Religious fundamentalists are the one threatening, so don't give in an inch. If they're allowed to indoctrinate children and give false hopes, then we are allowed to spread relevance and an appetite for common sense. I think the real issue that these billboards are exposing is the inability of some theist's to accept that there are those that just don't accept what they believe to be true. It's highlighting their mental and emotional immaturity more than anything else.

I think the billboards are a great idea. It is very difficult selling a product without advertising it. I think it is important to step away from the form of advertising that religions or 'McDonalds' take - aiming a great deal of it at children. I think their slogan must be - get' em by eight or it's too late.

While I dislike billboards that say things like "You know there's no God..." since they do nothing intentionally draw hostility towards atheism, billboards like these are great. They don't seek to anger anyone, they just raise awareness of the philosophy, and help those that are otherwise unable to share their views without fear of persecution. There was a very similar billboard that went up around where I live. It had the same background, but it read "Are you good without God? Millions are." Needless to say (unfortunately), it came down pretty quickly. The sad fact is that atheism isn't generally acknowledged in mainsteam America, so theists are shocked and surprised when atheists do something public like this.

It's not about conspiracy theories or complicated occult stuff...is very simple, we are in an age that we can start UNDERSTANDING better our origins, in a more logical, skeptical and scientific ways ....slowly we are realizing that god is just a myth. Simple as that.

This oh-so-American controversy puzzle me as a European (and a French). The mere fact that you have to put billboards to exist tells a lot... As far as I'm concerned, billboards of any side would be a bit awkward in here (there are tiny fights sometimes over Christmas though - and we laugh). I errr... 'paganishly' pray for your success in your fight against religious dominion - seems as easy as the cleaning of the Augean stables though :(

I think the real issue that these billboards are exposing is the inability of some theist's to accept that there are those that just don't accept what they believe to be true. It's highlighting their mental and emotional immaturity more than anything else.

@MsReefmaster Your lack of desire to "bond" doesn't address the fact that plenty of atheists would like to, and that a lot of "new" atheists are in the closet, so to speak, and might not even realize there is an atheist community they can draw support from. I grew up like that in the Bible Belt, and its a miserable feeling. This sign doesn't even make a religious comment, so HOW is it "targeted at religious people" even slightly? Its not, thats how.

what shocks me is that uk and usa are almost twins when it comes to the way the elites are controlling us. Alot of UK schools are now owned and run by businesses or charities, instigated by common purpose, they are called Academy schools, they are WIFI up to the teeth and have social workers and police etc on school, plus very few windows. There are atheists in every country. A very common cause of atheism is reading the bible or koran. Most never actually read these books but just get interpretations from others.
