McCain is running from the debate. Simple as that. Obama pointed out the importance of the candidates presenting their ideas especially now and that a president must be able to handle many tasks at once, and that they can play a constructive part in helping to solve the crisis AND have the debate. Of course the AP doesn't report that. Rather they give that interview dodging, cluess Palin some more undue attention. I'm surprised they didn't pick her for the video icon.

vertigo: The problem with that theory is that Friday's debate is concerning foreign policy. There won't be any talk of economic issues at the debate unless Obama frames his answers in terms of the cost of the war (which I'm guessing he will). This idea that McCain is running away from the debate doesn't add up.

ambigera, I know you were talking but it sounds as if you were farting. Of COURSE foreign policy has a lot to do with the economic situation, going beyond the mere costs of the war (which are substantial) but that's not even the point. The whole idea that McCain for legitimate reasons can't attend the debate is ludicrous. It's a cheap ass stunt. If you wanna know more, look into why McCain wants to postpone the Biden-Palin debate as well now
