trent is NIN, you can't blame him if his band can't keep up.
he plays all the instruments himself when recording, and the touring lineup changes. since they don't create the music, they obviously don't know it like trent
plus they're probably not as passionate about it: notice how trent sounds fucking perfect?
and if that doesn't convince naysayers, search for NIN at woodstock, it's a hi-fi, visceral show...plus it's funny watching trent smash the keyboards and roll around the stage
When grant park opened up i ran to the stage. I had to sit through the john butler trio, love and rockets, and iron and wine(very good) to see NIN. It was way worth it.
haha me too! i was so worried i wouldnt get a good spot. we were right on the gate looking at the middle of the stage (you know the part that kinda jutted out from the rest) where were you?
My philosophy is that a band can be successful in some measure as long as they are solid. That solidity is going to appeal to a group of people somewhere in the world. Even if it may be a mix between polka and the waltz.
Interesting to hear somebody liked Year Zero. I think there is something to learn musically in any song even if it isn't as mind blowing as previous work. I'll listent to something as long as it brings something new to the table. Example: The vacuum cleaner effect used in "sunspots" off of Year Zero. That sounded pretty unique to me. Unique is what I like about NIN. They bring alot of cool elements to the table.
steverzilly........come on now. Trent is an artist. how many of them are there today. I was at this show ten feet from the stage and I new I was in the presence of a real musician. I have been to well over 50 concerts. He is one of the best.
hahaha remember when everyone started shouting "FUCK KAYNE FUCK KAYNE!" at the end of the show?? hahah that was great, yea, im sorry, but FUCK YOUR FRIENDS!! lol jk peace homes!
well, hes an OK artist, but hes the biggest asshole. just ask anyone. but Kayne was playing at the same time as NIN, and it was just funny seeing people wasting their time seeing Kayne. plus, Kayne was a headliner at Lollapalooza, and i dont think he shouldve been haha.
hehehe. Well, I dont listen Kayne anyway, but at least you had more place for yourselves :)
Funny that Kayne is an asshole and Trent is sooooooo nice ;p And....How did it happen? Was Kayne affraid of NIN and HAD to perform in the same time? :d hehehehe
I was right in front of the stage too. It didn't sound this at all. So yeah, I agree, they killed it. This was the most intense concert I've ever been to. Fucking amazing. And thus the reason I've seen them again...and will be going to another show in a month and a half.
Nothing has brought maynard and trent together since project tapeworm... and that failed. But i agree with you it would be the most amazing thing ever
I think NIN and Tool should tour together... most fans of one band also like the other... then on stage Maynard should do some NIN songs and Trent should do some Tool songs... it would be incredibly successful.
You're probably right, I paid $110 for Tool tickets in 12/07 and that was for bowl seating. NIN does GA for $60, I saw them 12/08, so the only way in would be with a weapon. But I think that they should just release that "Tapeworm" material...
Hell yeah! I was there in the very front row just a little to the right of center. I just about got my ribcage crushed against the front rails but it was so worth it :)
You wouldn't understand unless you were there. The show was so fucking amazing that everyone was trying to record it. Best light show ever. In the other hand there was a mosh pit in the front with lots of people going crazy.

i do like their new stuff i'm just saying that there is not too many bands that can top their first couple of cds
steverzilly 3 years ago
their new stuff doesn't even come close in comparison to downward spiral or Fragile, Downward spiral is one the best My opinion.
steverzilly 3 years ago
i have to agree with you, The Fragile cannot be topped in my opinion, although i did like Year Zero.

Yea that would be a sick tour... NIN and Tool. But there deff wouldn't be a big enough venue to support the turn out for that shit.
