  • for a mini-14 tactical, can you do a complete field strip without removing the rail?

  • @fatmoxy No, the mount needs to be removed. The work-around that we add to the design to make up for that is that it can be replaced without losing zero.

  • @JackWeigand do you think you could post a video proving this? sorry to be skeptical, but many manufacturers claim this, and often they arent being truthful

  • @fatmoxy I'm sorry, I don't have a video to show you. At 3:55 on this video it's explained how to do it. You can verify in gun forums if it works or not. I understand your concern, but unfortunately we're just a small family business, and making videos is very time consuming, so we only post what we absolutely need to.

  • @JackWeigand okay no worries, i totally understand. i appreciate you replying to my questions, thank you.

  • I've just bought one of the new Ruger 77/357 rifles. Will your rail for the 77/44 fit the 77/357? (Part number 7744S or 7744B). Thanks.

  • I own Ruger MINI 14 Ranch and purchased a mini14 scope mount from NcSTAR item # MMNB14. The instructions want me to darn near field strip the weapon to install this scope mount. I followed the instructions as provided and still could not get this scope mount to stay steady. I do have experience field srtipping a military M-14 while I was in basic training back in '68. Your system appears much easier to install. What is your take on the scope mount I purchased?

  • @speedofc

Sorry we never comment on other manufacturers products, I feel it is bad manners. Our mount is very easily installed and if installed correctly you should never have an issue. I hope this is of some help.

  • Quick question, may be a dumb one. Will the picatinny style mount fit on any of the mini 14's (for example, on my mini 14 tactical)?

  • @CitizenErased181 Yes, it will fit on any of the Mini 14 Ranch rifles. There's an older version that's not a Ranch, it doesn't have the cuts for the Ruger rings- the mount won't fit on those. Any model with the Ruger ring slots will accept this mount without a problem.

  • Are either of these mounting systems good for an "over under" style sighting?

  • @wiferekr No, they're not "see-through" style mounts. It can be removed and replaced without losing zero- in case you needed to switch to open sights due to a failed optic- but you cannot use the iron sights without removal.

  • @JackWeigand Thanks for the reply. I had just got what I thought was a high quality B-square mount and it is floppy despite my best efforts to secure it. Thought I would try something new. What do you recommend for a see through style?

  • @wiferekr I'm not sure who is good, your best bet is checking out forums or reading the customer reviews on Brownells or MidwayUSA

  • Picatinny versus weaver base, why would we choose one over the other?

  • @bumjim2000 Picatinny is a military style, which has specific dimensions regardless of the manufacturer. It accepts Weaver style accessories in addition to the Picatinny accessories. It allows for more mounting options, and is the better choice.

Weaver style is still 7/8" wide, but the depth and positioning of the cross slots are not standard, and therefore restrict the products it accepts. It will only take other Weaver style products.

  • Yep, I bought a mini from CDNN, they gave me a free scope mount... No instructions on how to put it on. After looking at your vid here, it looks like I have to take the peep sight off, and F' that, I will not do that at all. I will use the rings and get a nice 1" tube style red dot like Nutnfancy uses.

  • Hi, Do you ship to Canada?

  • @ogradyrw You can't order from us, Mounting Solutions Plus carries our parts and offers exporting.

  • will this fit with a mini 14 target?

  • @freedemo yes, it will work without a problem.

  • @JackWeigand

Is there a PICATINNY base for a Ruger 96/44 mag lever action? Will the RANCHP...Picatinny style work? I see the Weaver base one (R96B which does direct to this video), but not sure if the RANCHP will work on a 96/44 mag Lever? Thanks

  • @HeadsmasterLLC Sorry but no, the R96B is the only one that we make that will work on that gun.

  • will it work with truglo open red dot sights? what brand is the rail?

  • @seminole147 Yes, these mounts accept Truglo products. The part numbers RANCH+ and RANCHB+ are for Weaver-style products, and the RANCHP is for Picatinny style products as well as Weaver-style.

The brand of the scopemount is Weigand.

  • Thanks for the video. I am buying a mount for my mini 14.

  • Will this mount work on the Ruger m77?

  • Unfortunately no, it will not. We've gotten so many requests for the m77 though that we plan to manufacture something in the future.
