haha, just to clarify(and probably ruin the joke) Men's Egg is a very famous teen-fashion based magazine in japan. There's also a girl's version just called Egg, same concept. Yeah...strange name though...ahem.
lol men's egg is a men's fashion magazine. for the male ver. of a ganguro/mamba/yamamba/etc. i dunno if it still exists or if it now caters to a different style. but yea.
Wow...cool! I had no idea. Is the ganguro/mamaba style still at all popular? I think I've only ever seen one or two guys with that style since I've been in Japan.
I had a Japanese language teacher who said she was a ganguro when she was in high school and she said that was over 5 years ago and that style is no more. I see people in Tokyo looking pretty close to a gangugro, etc. but not like the original. I have no idea what that current style is called, but I do see lots of really tanned Japanese with wild hair, not so much the severe makeup.
Im not positive but I was told by my japanese friend half women is a term they use for lesbians. It means that their spirit or some such is half of a womans and half of a mans(because they like women)
I'm just using Window Movie Maker which comes with all pc's. It's limited but can do simple editing. I use a Sony Cybershot handheld digital camera to take vids.
And yes....Korean cell phones are years ahead of anything in the States. When I moved back to Canada last year I bought a new phone yet it seemed like I was stepping back in time!
I'm not entirely sure how big Japan Town is, to be honest.
I know there are several Japanese neighborhoods within the immediate area around it, but when I checked the map, it turned out they didn't consider those areas to be a part of "Japan Town", so it seems, officially, it's small.
it's not really big. i lived for a couple months over there and was close by so i did frequent the place the area a few times. i'd describe it as a little quaint few blocks.
In JapanTown, they had a denny's over there and if im correct, they're the only denny's that serves fried rice!
I sure do....it`s the theme song to my little intro! I`ll make a new intro very soon...I`m already getting bored of the one I have. Unfortunatley I`m using Windows Movie Maker so my `cool editing` factor is limited.
Nope...the naked runner store was intact afterwards!! It's still here waiting for ya!!! The Colonel and Ronald fighting to the death t-shirts were the ones I found really odd!
Oh, they have a Kamikaze Style shop in Osaka? I recognize the T-Shirts. The one with Hello Kitty shooting Miffy in the head reads something like "You're overlapping, your chatracter is..."
i truly enjoy all of your videos! :) thank you!

I suppose that does sort of resemble Japan Town, down near San Francisco... xP
Thanks for taking the time to show us the sights on your Saturday, Kevin! Excellent video. (^_^)
Btw, do you know if anyone get hurt in the fire?
JayDeLart 3 years ago
Don't think so. I didn't see ambulances racing away from the scene. It was mostly firefighters and police.
Is Japan Town in San Fran big? I haven't been to the West Coast of the U.S. yet.
