  • gotta love the 258 screamin its head of

  • Whered you get your lift for that at?

  • @mdb1885 It has a Rusty's Offroad 6" lift. You can also get a 6" lift from BJ's offroad. Although I actually plan on redoing the lift and going with a spring over/shackle flip. Much nicer ride, although it will sit a bit higher.

  • Dont see too awful many of these around nowadays...great lookin jeep...run the hell out of it!! oh and btw i didnt see it get stuck once ;)

  • @92XJlaredo Yeah, they are not very common anymore. And the title is more of a play on words, meaning Jeeps don't get stuck ;)

  • ive got a 1977 jeep j-20... its a great truck...

  • I am not a fan of Jeeps. But, this one is a beautiful truck.

  • that didnt look very stuck...

  • Just a lil trouble getting up there but stuck, No! =)

  • Coulda had a V8.

  • relieve some air in tires let um grab.. to hard gotta squish a little more than ususal

  • I find it funny that people forget to use their brakes when they have no lockers equipped.

  • that's why lockers are well worth there money just lock those damn axle's and you won't ever have that problamo!

  • @addictedtos10s The rear has a Detroit Locker in it. The front is open, as driving on the roads with snow on them with a front locker is a death wish. I would need a selectable locker up front to make it usable in this area. Maybe one day :)

  • Not stuck. The truck was just having fun.

  • Is it an auto or a manual? and btw, it's very sexy

  • @119fatty Its a T176 4 speed manual. And thanks!

  • @Stuka87 no problem, theyre my favorite trucks!

  • little 6cyl has some power...

  • @importsstillsuck

    No, just really low gearing.

  • Dude, watched a lot of vids. You got it right, you had the balls to pin the gas. i have been telling whims, that you gotta spin the tires, if your gonna get out. Will pass your vid to my ball less friends.

  • @poweritout84 in mud you want your tires spinning but in snow like he is you dont want to spin. hes giving it way too much gas its no wonder he had such a hard time making it

  • @s9khein Well, actually crawling it didn't work either. Thats what I tried going up at first. Then I grabbed the camera and tried this route. Driving in deep snow is very similar to driving in mud. Also, this was after 3 days of driving on the driveway, so the snow had been smashed into ice underneath, and then another snow the morning of this video, but then warmed up and got slushy. There is no way you are going to crawl through 18" of slush.

  • If it was stuck it would not be able to budge at all.

  • Im sorry but this just seems like an excuse to get the camera and show off for a little bit, but what kind of exhaust you got on there it sounds great!!

  • When jeeps get stuck.......they back up and get over it.

  • Damn, snowbashing is hard work.. Nice truck, way to keep it original.

  • It wasn't stuck, the snow just slowed it down a little.

  • isn't the T176 a CJ transmission? or did you swap the whole powertrain from a CJ?

  • @FirebirdCamaro1220 They also used them in the FSJ's, but with slightly different gear ratios. There was the T176, T177, and T178.

  • fuck loosk like ulive way in the mountains

  • Gotta love the ole' 258! That thing was screamin! That's an older grill, isn't it? I like that style better than the square headlight FSJ front ends.

    Nice vid. 5 Stars

  • Yeah, the grill came off a '78 Cherokee. It had the plastic muscle grill originally. It was getting faded and cracked, this was a welcomed swap. Thanks!

  • lol dont worry, fsj's never let u down. just keep rockin it and you'll be unstuck soon enough. btw: love the way that thing sounds

  • Thanks :)

  • Hey what year is ur truck?? I have 66 that is lifted up like urs........check it out on my channel.

  • Specs are in the description.

  • hey you should put a bigger engine in it

  • no the 6cyl will produse more torque

  • Magna Flow I was thinking about. IMC I'll have to look into. 2.5" from the manifolds back? I'm running the TF 727, 360 v8, 4.88gears, a spool, 37" mud tires, 5" lift, with cut fender flares. Thank you for the info.

  • That thing revs up. I like it. Have you done any type of exhaust work? I'm looking to have my j20 fit with a new system.

  • Yeah it has a full custom exhaust. Its all 2.5", MagnaFlo Hi-Flo CAT, and an IMC Turbo Muffler. I ran the same setup on my '75 Cherokee minus the CAT. The cherokee sounded awesome (It had a AMC 360). My truck here has the AMC 258 i6. It still sounds great for a 6 banger though.

  • gas er' Billy

  • im guessing it had nothing to do with the truck, but the fact that the snow was very heavy

  • Up here in Newfoundland, the snow can be very wet and heavy. Snow like that will stick anything at all, flooring it will only cause problems. Just keep rocking it like that fella was doing in the video.

  • The best pickup truck ever made. Nice condition the old Gladiator is.

  • if its in your driveway i would of said fuck it and left it and got it later or the next day

  • Gotta give it gas--good recovery- I get fucking stuck with my 2wd buick, but flooring the fucker usually get its out. Looks like fun !

  • this could take a hole lot of floring

  • it aint stuck jeeps never get stuck

  • You are right, they just get temporarily detained :)

  • Slick snow !

  • Yeah it was :)

  • Does lowering the air pressure help with wet/snow traction in general?

  • In deeper snow yes, helps you float on top.

  • Yeah, I always lower my air pressure like 5 psi when it rains because it helps me slide a lot less.

  • Nice I dropped a mustang V8 in my 63 gladiator.

We had snow coming over the hood before we stopped.

  • In dry powder stuff, I can go through 30" without to much of a problem. But this was slicker stuff with packed ice underneath.

  • Nice :) I have a '79 j10 with the 258 I-6 and T18 4-speed and Dana 44's. To quote the guy at the garage that accidentally chirped the tires in low pulling it out of the bay "Put this sucker in low, tie it down and you could rip the whole damn state off the map." LOL

  • FAntastic! A very satisfying end ;)

Love that stuka logo and sound.

  • Thanks :)

  • jeep thrills ;)

  • what state you live in. seems like a nice place to go and spends some good alone time or with a lover, nice getting unstuck though lol maybe chains around the tires would help you

  • I live in California.

And yes chains would help. However, chains for these size tires get to be pretty expensive :/

And yes, its an awesome area. My GF loves it :)

  • Nice driving way to rock your way through, I'm rocking the AMC six in my '71 Scout.

  • yea i hear ya...my 83 fsj has a nice built 360 with 4.10's...terrible gas mileage...but it will pull a house down..lol

  • of course the fsj gets through it..nice jeep

  • well, looks to me like you got allright, it just took some convincing and apparently the Jeep didnt want to be embarrassed on youtube. and looks to me like we all agree that AMC built the last good Jeeps. I have an '82 J-20 myself.

  • Now thats a 4 wheel drive, especially when all 4 wheels spin. i have a 76 J10 with a 360 in it and wow does it have power. it also has a 4.10 gear in it so that makes it even better for pulling power

  • Not bad... My J10 has the 360 AMC V8 in it so it has a little more grunt, and I'm putting a new manifold and a 4-barrel carb on it soon.

  • I had a '75 Cherokee up until last spring. Same 6" lift, same tires, but with a 360 with edelbrock goodies, HEI, etc, T18a 4sp. It certainly had more power. But the gearing was quite as good as it had 3.54's. With the 4.56's I have plenty of power in the J10, I just lack on the side of top speed (60 is tops).

  • I've gotten mine up to 90, then the clutch let go, it's been slipping since I got the truck but I've got a new one ready to go on. $190 in the name of power!

  • Oh back when I had stock gearing it would do 100, but now I am running 3000rpm at 60mph.

  • AMC jeeps rock. chrysler ruined jeep with their urban 4X2's and even a couple FWD cars

  • Chrysler is the worst thing that ever happened to Jeep, plus they killed the J10 because it was too much competition for their crappy (at the time) Dodge trucks.

  • Amen.

  • @1969MustangMACH1 Chrysler fixed jeeps

  • sweet! Jeeps Rule... AMC Jeeps.

  • Exactly, AMC jeeps! Well, Kaiser and Willys Jeeps are cool too :)

  • Impressive. I am very familiar with getting J10s stuck in the snow in my own yard. Your truck makes it look easy. Must be those TSLs ;)

  • Yeah, they like the deep snow (hate hard pack). The locker doesn't hurt much either ;)

  • That wasn't stuck. Stuck is when you go back and forth and still can't get anywhere so you have to get out and move the snow our from under your car by hand while saying a lot of choice words while you freeze your hands off. You're lucky that you always get stuck in your own driveway. LOL at "beats traffic".

  • I used the shovel before I started filming :P Plus its easy to back down a hill. The camera doesnt show it, but its fairly steep

  • That is one bad ass ride.

  • Thanks :)

  • good thing your camera didnt freeze!

  • This is after a week of melting. It was 50 out today, which made the snow really slushy. The more frozen snow is easier to get traction in.

  • Was that today? You still have that much? Good video- I would have filmed it for you but I would never make in in my car- Haha!

  • Yeah, that was today! Thats a weeks worth of melting.

  • Crazy! Well a thousand feet lower in only a ten min drive and there is no snow- save the dirty heaps left behind...

  • like I said... Holy Shit!! lol :P

  • someone(as in you)will be using a shovel for a couple hrs when the snow is gone lol...looks fun..stupid redding doesnt get snow like this
