It's pretty funny now to think that when I was a child, I always thought it was a doctor-ish because of the lyrics, i.e "Let's all take a look at it closer in every way" lol...not to mention the soothing tune in the background...kinda also reminds of the soothing Joe Raposo piece in the clip with different children visiting the doctor (I know that's it's posted, just saying it's my favorite clip).

You're not the only one! I think this clip originally had different music that scared me to smithereens!!!! I'm talking when I was about 3 or 4, 1971 or 72. Anyone else remember that?

You're not kidding. When I first saw this in 1969 or 1970, The music was eerie. It was a long drone of a human voice, kind of like a big long woooooooooooooooooow. It really freaked me out and I thought maybe I had imagined it. I only saw it once. Gordon was sitting on the steps outside and held up a tomato. The tomato clip was followed by the skin clip, but with lighter music, not the eerie drone music.
