Awesome skills, I love the sport. Seems no one plays it anymore :( . Freestyle is fantasic, can't seem to master the spinning technique (even with silicon spray). Maybe someone can help me out?

You are right: Frisbee is about throwing catching, communication and flow. For that I suggest you to watch my jam videos.

The disc is not spinning on the finger tip but on the nail, it's called DELAY.

No, il parchetto è su 3 piani ed è dietro casa mia. Ci gioco spesso, non è il massimo, ma non poteva andarmi meglio per avere un posto dove allenarmi vicino a casa.

Tecnicamente trovi i frisbee da freestyle da Oltre la Luna (vicino a Questura e teatro romano, proprio all'inizio di galleria Protti.

Cerca di acquistare il frisbee di marca Discraft, si chiama SKY-STYLER e pesa 160 gr.Oppure quello della Wham-O, sempre da frisbee freestyle e sempre da 160gr.

Yes, first of all don't worry about the difficulty of the basics as the nail delay or the brushing. It's something that you'll get with experience and practice. A bit boring, but once you get brushing, delay and some cool throws and catches you are on the right way for freestylin'

I suggest you to learn to delay on both hands with one spin, then start immediately learning the other one on both hands. It will open your game. ;)

Sono contento ti piaccia. Ci sono parecchi siti online di frisbee freestyle, come jamngo punto com o freestyledisc punto org. Da lì puoi trovare video ed info. Anche su google video o youtube trovi parecchia roba!

Una marca di silicone ottima secondo me è lo Svitol Silicone Spray.

Ti sconsiglierei le unghie x chitarra. Secondo me puoi iniziare con le tue unghie e poi passare alla plastica o plexiglass(ottimo),tagliate,le­vigate e incollate sulle unghie con la colla superattack.

My god, how do you get it to keep spinning for so long?

We usually spin it on the nail or on frisbee nails made of hard plastic or Plexiglass.

Then we spray the bottom with Silycon spray that reduce the friction between nail and disc. It's almost impossible to do it without a lubricant. Silycon Spray is the best because it doesn't get dirty as oil-based lubes.

Someone please tell me how they do that. Ive read they use a silicon spray to reduce friction. But where can i get that. Are these special types of frisbys? what kind of grams are they?

We use normal Silicon Spray you can find in house-hardware store or paint stores.The frisbees we use are 160 grams and are specially created for Freestyle. Discraft and Wham-O produce them.

P.S. find a tutorial on the nail delay on the web (also here on youtube), so you can learn faster how to spin the disc on the nail. ;)

I started during summer '03 and the video was shot on sumemr '06. So about three years for me, but it depends, with the big community we have now and the web helping a lot to communicate and posting/viewing videos everything is faster. :)

No at 1:29 it's a triple spinning (normal) flamingo catch. The barrel is hard to explain, easier to show and see. It's a spinning movement where the spin to the catch is almost blind as you jump for the catch while you're still half spin away from the disc. I don't do a barrel on this video, but there are some in others I did.I'll send you a PVT message.

Yes, it's a frisbee nail. Usually made of hard plastic and glued with super glue. It prevent your real nail and it is a great help for hard tricks.

Plastic for freestyle, because it has less friction than rubber. Usually also in the other disc sports they use plastic. Probably because rubber distort its shape during the flight (example: when you throw the disc you put a lot of stress on the outer rim and that would cause a distortion on a rubber disc causing less precision on long flights--->my opinion :) )

it's sylicon spray. It helps the disc to spin longer on the nail. I started with kitchen oil (just a few drops and then you clean it up). Water works for a little bit (till it dries out).

But still the best option is sylicon spray.

That is a barrel flamingo pull. It's good looking if you have to jump high to reach the disc (not as I do in this video, but the wind that day was very bad and sometimes it pushed the disc down very fast). Thanks for all your comments guys, keep practicing ;)
