Guys if you could spend some time I have made walkthrough of this game on TGNRPG, if only you could check it out it would be great just type Drakensang onto youtube search and you will find my show. Would be really appreciated.
@Hexpigge oh ok, thanks for that, and one more thing, how can i defeat the 4 crabs at the temple in brother emmerans place?, they crawl fast and their damage is painful, ouch! lol
@KerslesLieClaire I usually avoid them, if I die once, I usually say "screw that, Dude, you're left for decoy". I just leave one character to die, so that other can go around safely :]. Hope it helps :].
@KerslesLieClaire Nothing else to do than just equip a load of healing and endurance potions, use special attacks and use endurance potion, if with a bow or crossbow wouldnt hurt to fire "fire arrows" or "poison arrows" the more effects the better, e.g. if you have 2 archers just use poison arrows on one and fire ones on another, then the enemy will get two effects. Glad to help :D.
@HardWarUK Nope :]. I upload once a week on fridays, about 20-30min long episode. Uploaded 26th recently and 27th is the last one, will be uploaded this friday :].
@HardWarUK Well IDK what was 2 weeks ago, now I have finished playing drakensang the dark eye, there is a full playlist on the channel, started voting for new Let's Play, maybe River of time, though don't want to jump into it just yet, will see what viewers want :]. Though thanks for checking out the channel!
@thedragonb0y There are plenty of "new" things coming out all the time. However, there is nothing wrong with sticking to what works and what has fans. I enjoy creative new franchises from the cliche but with twists Guild Wars setting, the rich world of Assassin's creed, and even the bizarre like x-com or darwinia.
However I also love my cliche' high fantasy worlds like Dragon Age, the Witcher, and this. There is plenty of room for new and old.
@Tarhiel Oh come on, I LOVE The Witcher, but it is typical high fantasy (or dark fantasy depending on your definition of the two). Geralt the lone wandering monster hunter, mages being silly mages, dragons being dragons, dwarves, gnomes, and elves both having all the stereotypical attributes typically associated with their races...
It's all standard fantasy stuff.
Now notice I said the WORLD is pretty cliche' (and I think that's the point) I did not say the story was.
Sorry, but saying story wasn´t cliche but world setting was is play on words. Whole Sapkowski world is contradictory to typical (Tolkien-ish) fantasy setting: dwarves cuss alot, they are very down to earth type of persons; elves aren´t "the best" race around anymore, in fact, they are persecuted by lesser humans with all their human flaws (this is only common thing with Tolkien - realistic portrait of humans with their flaws), they are superstitious, stupid even.
@Tarhiel Mages? Ambivalent (not explicitly evil – that would be cliché, everything in this setting is ambivalent) manipulating bastards. Humans persecuting all „non-humans“ (elves, dwarves, everything, which is not human).
Sapkowksi also based his setting on Slavic and German mythology (Vodyanoi people, Striga, Kikimore, Midday brides... )
– now how many games with those mythologies have you seen?
I´m sorry but this is not typical fantasy setting. It´s fantasy setting on it´s head.
@Tarhiel First off that's not a play on words... claiming it is doesn't even make sense... it is very possible to have a cliche setting and a unique tale within that setting. Which is exactly how I feel about the Witcher. That is NOT a play on words.
@Tarhiel You know what... there just isn't enough room in these youtube posts to say what I want to say. But this is an interesting debate I want to continue, so I'll message you.
I don't know why you're telling me this now. Actually you where the one complaining.
I know there are new approaches to fiction. But only because they are new, doesn't mean they are good. Just like it doesn't mean the old ones are bad because they are old.
Redundancy or not, the P&P game on which Drakensang is based on is one of the most beloved P&P systems in central europe (over here it even whoops D&Ds ass... which isn't all too hard after the 4th edition).
And going by the fact, that the last game-series based on this licence is almost 20 years old (Realms of Arkania) this game definitely gets its right to exist.
I knew I was going to love this game when right at the start a merchant had "very smelly fish", I right-clicked for info and found there was a defence bonus to them because the terrible smell may put enemies off! I also love that once again, just like with Two Worlds 1 and 2, we don't have your typical AD&D gameworld like your Oblivion's and Dragon Age's! IN fact Europe is good at non AD&D with the Gothic's and Divine Divinity's!
most of the same exact items just a little more althought i finished the game and i still feal its too small and it needs more items, its just too small of a game, i mean its awesom and all but its small and it has alot of quests that you can not finish and i cant find a good guid for the game or a trainer, i search for them after i finish a game just to see how much fun i can squize out of it :p cant find any :/

@shousha90 No, you don't. "The River of Time" is a stand-alone-game - it's the second game of the Drakensang series.

Uh... seriously... I know the fantasy setting is very often used but if you for an example can't see the difference between this and Lands of Lore.
Hell... it's like saying Star Wars is the same as Aliens.
And if you're such a shrewd bloke well, then come up with something new.
And now don't give me something like Cyberpunk...
13x1x20 1 year ago
@13x1x20
People tend to come up with that once they are fed up with fantasy...
