this isn't going to put a ton of muscle on you given it's mostly a cardio program. DO p90x with bands (easier on joints) and you'll see better results
@birdman4birdlegs thats not true, i did insanity and i gained a significant amount of muscle mass, the thing is your body weight acts as the resistance so you dont need weights, these guys are making a living off of this i dont think they are lying plus ive seen the results on me myself. im not saying alot of muscle. yes weight training is needed for that, but before that i suggest insanity , it really conditions your body and tones it out perfectly before moving on.
@ididete It does both, but since p90x uses weights/pullups you will build more muscle with p90x. So if you are looking for size I would start with p90x. However, the cardio is much much much more intense in Insanity compared to p90x.
my friend is doing this and he's looking amazing he's half way through and has dropped alot in girth...i hope to do it when i'm approved by dr.'s to start working out again and when i have the money to do so
Okay so I have a question... I am a Fitness Instructor and would love to do this. I teach 8 classes a week minimum, some days 2-3 classes a day. My classes are plyo cardio and weights. Wondering your opinion. If I did this on top of all my classes would I still get great results you think or would it be to much on my body....I'm defnitely down for doing it!
I was amazed at my results from doing this program. It's not magic it's damn hard work and you will sweat like mad but it does get results I promise. The confidence alone is an amazing return and that's even before I mention at how much body fat I lost

@Rockyroopam As far as I know you can only burn ATP (which translates into calories). If you're out of ATP, your muscles won't work anymore because they need ATP in order to contract. Your body uses many ways to store it (one of it is fat, which are the long term calories that are not being used and therefore stored away for "bad times" so to speak which is also the reason why fat is the hardest to get rid off).
@Rockyroopam "it depends on your calorie intake. if your general trend is to consume under your maintenance calories by more than 10%, the body will tend to burn muscle. you only need a certain amount of muscle mass to move around, so excess muscle is the first thing the body burns when it thinks its starving. it'll save the fat until muscle mass is depleted." I found via google. So if you eat breakfast before doing insanity, you should be fine ;-)

i'm 18 and i just finished month 1. i was already in decent shape because i play baseball pretty much year round, but let me tell you... this thing is no joke. i was pretty thin when i started and i've actually gained weight from insanity. if you're a skinny guy like me and want to build some muscle as well as improve your overall fitness, don't hesitate to go with this. if you put in the work, you will get ripped. period.
these commercials are pretty funny but it is a really difficult program. you can get those results if you can actually do the workouts. they fail to tell you that part.

As for the eating, it comes with a pretty extensive nutrition guide. And working out after the insanity workout... well going for a run and stuff like that is possible but insanity is really intense already and based on cardio so its pretty much up to how you're feeling after the workout. One important thing is to always have rest days (wednesday is low intensity and sunday free) so your body can recover.

@redrox15 most people wnt listen to land softly. especially beginners. this in my opinion is only advisable for former athletes. evn thn kind of boring. i would do mov nat r parkour.
maybe other people aren't like me but these vids help me push past where I think I can go. They force me to keep going cuz I want to finish the workout. I don't think running around the block is gonna do that for you. AND on a side note, ya this workout can be hard on the knees if you land hard every time you jump. He repeatedly warns you to use good form and land softly, if you're to tired to do that then rest for a 15 seconds or something.
People buy the programs for the better results and because they need the motivation and direction. Also you should never stick to the same workouts. You should alternate them in order to see CHANGE.
i am fan of shaun t since hip hop abs went out on the market.. up to now i'm still fascinated with how he speaks so clearly eventhou he's sweatin and breathing hard. rock on.
His Gecko (Oblique Knee?) Press Ups are shit. Your Knees should be touching your Elbows and you should be going down 45 degrees, if not more. You'll be better off not spending obscene amounts of money on this or a Gym membership and (If you're in the UK) go use the British Army fitness program. That shit gets your ripped. I'm in the Army so can vouch for it. It may not get you ripped like in this video in two months but you will get ripped. You can do three levels, green, amber and red.
I used a torrent for this, it's the stupidest shit I've ever used. Each exercise is about 40 minutes long or so and the warm up and stretches come out to 15 minutes of the 40 minutes. You end up with only 25 minutes of a real exercise, doing dumb shit like an invisible jump rope and touching your toes for 15 minutes.
If you want insanity you can make something more insane yourself. If you do some cardio for a few weeks you can do this no problem. I'm twenty I did this with a flu -_-
I do insanity p90x hybrid... Gets you tons of cardio, but I'm not doing the insanity patented panzy pushups... Touch your chest dang it!!!!

As for the eating, it comes with a pretty extensive nutrition guide. And working out after the insanity workout... well going for a run and stuff like that is possible but insanity is really intense already and based on cardio so its pretty much up to how you're feeling after the workout. One important thing is to always have rest days (wednesday is low intensity and sunday free) so your body can recover.

I have one week doing Insanity, and, I already have some results, my legs are more stronger, and tight in relax, I have lost weigh on my butt, I have lost a "pot belly" in my back under the arms. I feel FANTASTIC!!! In a just 7 days!!! I can't imagine how I'm going to turn in the 60 day.

maybe other people aren't like me but these vids help me push past where I think I can go. They force me to keep going cuz I want to finish the workout. I don't think running around the block is gonna do that for you. AND on a side note, ya this workout can be hard on the knees if you land hard every time you jump. He repeatedly warns you to use good form and land softly, if you're to tired to do that then rest for a 15 seconds or something.

His Gecko (Oblique Knee?) Press Ups are shit. Your Knees should be touching your Elbows and you should be going down 45 degrees, if not more. You'll be better off not spending obscene amounts of money on this or a Gym membership and (If you're in the UK) go use the British Army fitness program. That shit gets your ripped. I'm in the Army so can vouch for it. It may not get you ripped like in this video in two months but you will get ripped. You can do three levels, green, amber and red.

I used a torrent for this, it's the stupidest shit I've ever used. Each exercise is about 40 minutes long or so and the warm up and stretches come out to 15 minutes of the 40 minutes. You end up with only 25 minutes of a real exercise, doing dumb shit like an invisible jump rope and touching your toes for 15 minutes.
If you want insanity you can make something more insane yourself. If you do some cardio for a few weeks you can do this no problem. I'm twenty I did this with a flu -_-
