Making a V with your fingers? That works, but the TRUE symbol of peace will always be the White Dove. People who think you can protect the world by fighting are deluding themselves. Only by being like a White Dove can you protect the future, peaceful and free.
Great song, not so known from Lynyrd Skynyrd. From First and Last. I think it is Rickey Medlocke singing who was part of the band on early days. Thank you!
Thanks for making this video. It is very nice. This song has a special in my heart. I no longer own the record, but I come to your video and listen about once a month.
hey i saw two white doves this morning at 8:00 o'clock...on the dock...they were moving in beautiful patterns...i felt something in my spirit...then they dissappeard...i heard a voice "it said a change is coming" what does that mean... i started crying cause i felt like jesus was talking to me...im going through some stuff.but when i saw the doves and heard the voice... icould feel so much love and peace... what does that mean? please help....
@victoriaha01 If you ask me, they are the representives of peace and freedom. See it this way... If angels there are then I think their earthly form is white doves. And for a good reason.
awesome song if not a skynyrd freak you wont know this song or all the other great stuff they did but never hear on the radio im a skynyrd freak from when they started and for me they are the BEST SOUTHERN ROCKERS PERIOD. SO FIND THE GOOD STUFF LIISTEN AND ENJOY RIP RONNY AND THE REST WHO WERE LAID TO REST TO EARLY WE STILL LOVE YA
Nah sung by Ricky Medlocke ! This is off First and Last compilation, an excellent record and has some of the best songs the band ever did including some unreleased material. Ricky Medlocke was the bands first drummer but quit in 1970. The album is serious kick-arse and a must have for Skynyrd fans. Blood sad all the tragedy this band faced, and wish Ronnie was around, I'm sure he would have a lot to say about our world and the fucked up state it is in these days.
I do believe this is my favorite skynyrd tune and can only find it on the mussel shoals album...they should of played it more, although if they had it would of main streamed and it would of been played to hell....
to be honest gary alen and ronnie and rickey wrote this song b4 freebird was thought of and this song wuz going to be caled free bird so yes indeed you are listening to the true "Free Bird"
@getargod24 - lol no they didn't. Rickey wrote this song front to back...start to finish. the beginning of free bird was how it was at the start until fans wanted more....they added the solo part then. UNTIL you know what you're talking about, don't make statements trying to mislead people.
1. "Down South Jukin'" (Ronnie Van Zant; Gary Rossington) 2. "Preacher's Daughter" Ronnie Van Zant; Rickey Medlocke 3. "White Dove" (Rickey Medlocke) 4. "Was I Right or Wrong" (Ronnie Van Zant) 5. "Lend a Helpin' Hand" (Ronnie Van Zant; Gary Rossington; Allen Collins) 6. "Wino" (Ronnie Van Zant; Rickey Medlocke; Allen Collins) 7. "Comin' Home" Ronnie Van Zant; Allen Collins 8. "The Seasons" Rickey Medlocke 9. "Things Goin' On" Ronnie Van Zant; Gary Rossington
The poster at the end shows later Skynyrd band. Ricky's not even in the picture? Should have used the album cover it's from. Greg Walker from Blackfoot is also on that disc playing bass.
Excuse me thuis song is on 1 of the last albums put out from the original line up of Skynrd affer the plane crash Iyt was realeased after Street Survivors n & before the band came back out with Johny
