I think this is when the DO NOT DIVE sign would be useful...eventually some drunk person might be tempted to take a dive. It doesn't seem complicated, I would say that the water is trapped between two glasses and waves are then artificially generated, I took a second look, the glass is not tinted, the color of the walls reflecting up is what is giving the pool a depth from the top.
