The Ramones were amazing, other punk as in indie is just the (not stunning musicianship) anyone it approach. Grunge happened as a back lash to late 80's Hair glam rock .

You dont have to be as good as the players in Zep, Hendrix or those once ion a life to play it. So it does little for me. Most of bands sound sane in grunge.

The sucess of Nickelback was largely not worked for, they rode the post grunge wave along with creed who has now faded into obscurity and they to will fade. The Black Keys, in my humble opinion, will be veiwed as one of the defining rock group of my generation

In Ohio the grocery stores sell normal beer and pretty sure round the clock. No Sunday sales and sales stop at midnight or so here in Kansas.

I'm from Ohio, the reason is twofold. One, idiots from the coasts that have never been outside their metro areas that need to make themselves feel good and justify why they pay big bucks for a tiny apartment. Two, people from in Ohio that are self-conscious that our big cities (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati) aren't nearly as big an influential as Chicago and NYC. Ohio is one of the most populace states in the US, people that say it's all farmers are morons.
