  • I'm sorry, but those things scare the hell out of me!

  • Yes, it is the best!

  • On December 24th WGN TV will be showing Bozo, Gar and Ray which includes Hardrock, Coco and Joe, and Suzy Snowflake.

  • @Maryloohoo2 -- What a shame that WGN-TV as well as most TV stations across the USA discontinued live kid shows years ago. And what replaced it? Garbage such as Jerry Springer, Rosie and Maury. YUK to the max.

  • Love it! My Christmas isn't complete until I see this video, the Suzy Snoflake video, the Frosty video, and hear Burl Ives sing Silver and Gold, and Have A Holly Jolly Christmas. Thanks for the post!

  • Is it jus me or does Santa Claus look Asian?

  • @omenfj Santa IS Asian!

  • WOW this is the first time i've seen this and i got to say it came across as creepy to me.

  • Oh man, I love this video!! It brings back memories of Christmas Eve in my family. We use to watch this before we go to sleep.

  • Ahhhhh, the memories. Loved this one!

  • HOLY CRAP WHY IS SANTA A HORRIBLE FANGED ABOMINATION?!

  • Comment removed

  • spooky and indelible

  • Who are those misersable people who "dislike" this song? GREAT Tune. So is "Here comes Suzy Snowflake and Frosty the Snowman". Baby Boomers say it LOUD --- WGN rules, baby!

  • I first watched this about 50 years ago on WGN. The Garfield Goose Show with Frazier Thomas.

  • I HAVE to watch this video, every December, it wouldn't be Christmas.

  • i still like to watch these old shows

  • wha...why dose santa have fangs?

  • I REMEMBER THESE LITTLE GUYS FROM WHEN I WAS JUST A LITTLE GIRL...LOVED THIS

  • I've always loved the look on Santa's face. He looks so happy! :D

  • Northern cambria here!

  • I was an adult before I heard this song/video. It's one of my favorites!

  • great stuff..

  • @marglover57

I'm from Johnstown too. The Richland/Geistown area....loved these as a kid. I moved away back in '74 when I graduated.

  • To this day this, Frosty, and Suzy Snowflake still plays on WJAC-TV in Johnstown PA!!!!!

  • @crusherfan53 I wasn't sure if it still played on WJAC. I grew up in Pittsburgh and saw these every holiday season

  • i'm 55 yrs old and i remember this as a kid in Chicago and still love it to this day. EXCELLENT!!!!!

  • I had no idea Santa was Chinese.

  • @mdf3530 He's not Chinese, when he cruised through Hollywood, he got himself a facelift. LOL!!

  • Please bear with me, one more from the childhood!!

  • Santa looks Asian I guess that's why he needs three elves one to drive the sligh so they wont crash one to read the map so they don't get lost and the other one so that he can give Santa the right toys to put int the tree zing

  • If I watched this as a kid I'd be afraid Hardrock, Coco, and Jo would sneak in my room and gang rape me.

  • WHY does Santa look demonic??

  • Santa looks like he works at P.F. Changs! lmfao

  • Instantly I am a little girl again watching Ray Raynor, Bozo and Garfield Goose.

Where did all the years go to? Its sad that these wonderful shows are gone and

we are the last generation that will remember.

    WGN are you listening?

  • @Maryloohoo2 If you miss seeing these shows on TV watch or tape or do both on Christmas Eve from 9:30-11:30 (central time) WGN TV will be re-running their Bozo, Gar and Ray: WGN TV Classics. They show from what I believe is all the clips they have left from the shows. And they also show Hardrock Coco and Joe, Frosty the Snowman, and Suzy Snowflake during the 2 hour broadcast. WGN TV and Radio's Dean Richards hosts this special.

  • @Maryloohoo2 Here, here! I remember seeing this every year. So glad YouTube is around to keep the old memories alive!

  • I get my wish, go to WGN TV on Decenber 24th 11:00 and 9:30, its on their website under Holiday TV Specials.

  • the 3 classics (frosty/suzie/hrccjo)are forever - they make the holiday season official to those of use who grew up with them always watching them each year over christmas vacation - my local station still plays them - wjac tv johnstown

  • This thing scared the bejeezus out of me 50 years ago, and still seems pretty creepy today.

One reason Santa appears Asian might be because the animator was a Chinese American named Wah Chang, who went on to great success as a set and prop designer for the original Star Trek series. He also did work on The Outer Limits, and in films such as Planet of the Apes and Cleopatra.

  • We only had one TV channel back when I was a kid growing up in the foothills of the Laurel Mountains---WJAC in JOHNSTOWN,PA. No matter how far you move away from that area, when you return it just seems like time stood still for the past 50 plus years. GREAT MEMORIES.

  • How could anybody not like these (also frosty the snowman and suzy snowflake)? I remember seeing them (on WJAC in Johnstown PA) like it was yesterday. Well it was 50 years ago, but it seems like yesterday.

  • Is it me or does Santa look Japanese...and if so what where they trying to say by having him Japanese?

  • Oh lord the memories :)

  • This used to scare me as a child, But its nice to bring back the memories.

  • I am only 30 years old so I wasn't a kid when this or Suzy snowflake came out but my mom and dad couldn't wait to see it every year when I was a kid. They would always want me to watch it with them. I did. And now I Cant wait to see it every year and I get my kids to watch it with me as they did. And they do. And they love it also. Let the tradition live on!!

  • I live just north of Pgh, and I remember watching and singing to this classic as a kid. I believe it may have been played on Paul Shannons' Adventure Time. Truly takes you back a time, that we will never see again, unfortunately... What saddens me is, I wish my kids could have lived thru that era... Thanks for the trip back on the time machine ~~~~~~~

  • I grew up outside of Johnstown, PA and to this day they play his video, Suzy Snowflake, and Frosty The Snowman. when I was a kid my brother's and I knew Christmas was close when we started to see these on TV! I love them!!

  • It's STILL on Channel 6 - WJAC, out of Johnstown, PA - that's the only channel around here anyway that still shows these - it's not the Holidays without the three of these - this one, Suzy Snowflake, and Frosty the Snowman! Takes me right back to Christmases of old... sigh......

  • This was on Channel 6 around 11:00 every December wekend in the 60's through the 90's in Johnstown, Pa. Brings back the child in me,along with Suzy Snowflake too.

  • the peples voices sounded so much cooler back then. i wish they still sounded that good

  • Thank God WGN came to their senses a few years ago and showed them for the first time in I swear 20 years at least. I remember it was Christmas Eve because I was with my Mom's family and I did remember for a short time in the 80's this was shown on Garfield Goose and eventually The Bozo Show. And now has been a staple on Christmas Eve and Day on Ch.9 in Chicago!

  • Wow, this in incredible! Way ahead of its time!

  • I'm JOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • @SaintNessa Bo...I'M Joe!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And Santa is busy with his heavy pack, he trusts his drivers and never looks back..

  • Santa looks like he's been smoking chronic

  • santa's scary

  • Merry Christmas from Iowa

  • Whats up with santas eyes. And what about his teeth?

  • Chinese Santa don't hire elves, uses child labor instead.

  • Well Chicagoans, I go back 40 years and some with WGN baby !!! Yeah I'm old " AND LOVING IT" !!! Get Smart , remember ?

  • I was Hardrock, Coco, or Joe in my kindergarten or 1st grade, but can't remember which one. Didn't know the name of this song so I played it on my banjo on my channel so someone might tell me the name of it. I got the name after about 30 min.

  • Those big german ornaments on the tree, Garfield Goose on TV after school, walking home on the icy sidewalks, dreaming of Christmas...

  • santa looks chinese

  • I never had the chance to watch this but the classics are great. Too bad they're dying out as children are being presented with movies that are rife with technological special effects & not much substance anymore.

  • Wow! I love this! Brings back good memories back! Thanks for adding this!

  • Man, why couldn't we stay kids forever?!?

This and Suzy Snowflake had me glued to the TV when I was little in Chicago!!

  • I will always remember this because of the pause just before Joe takes a snowball to the noggin..Thanks for the Christmas of "OLE" flashback.

  • adorable I was raised in Northern California , snow in mountains!

  • I was just talking to someone about "Hardrock, Coco and Joe" and was thrilled to find it on You Tube. If you grew up in the Chicagoland area 20+ years ago you probably saw it. I loved it and looked forward to it every year. And I remembered the tune and every single word! These simple things make for a happy childhood.

  • To: tammiedaniels and the rest I have to agree! One of the best Christmas cartoons, I used watch while I grew up in Chicago...that was 30 years ago.. now living in Colorado Springs, CO and they just don't show classics like this I am glad to see it here on U TUBE. Have a Merry Christmas Everybocy! :>)
