They show from what I believe is all the clips they have left from the shows. And they also show Hardrock Coco and Joe, Frosty the Snowman, and Suzy Snowflake during the 2 hour broadcast. WGN TV and Radio's Dean Richards hosts this special.

One reason Santa appears Asian might be because the animator was a Chinese American named Wah Chang, who went on to great success as a set and prop designer for the original Star Trek series. He also did work on The Outer Limits, and in films such as Planet of the Apes and Cleopatra.

Thank God WGN came to their senses a few years ago and showed them for the first time in I swear 20 years at least. I remember it was Christmas Eve because I was with my Mom's family and I did remember for a short time in the 80's this was shown on Garfield Goose and eventually The Bozo Show. And now has been a staple on Christmas Eve and Day on Ch.9 in Chicago!
