I first saw this on PBS back in May 2002. At the time, I was a 13-year-old kid who really didn't know anything about musical theatre. I only knew Sherie as Amneris; had never heard of JRB. By the end of the month I had the cast album for this show, Parade, and Songs for a New World, and practically worshipped Sherie Rene Scott. Definitely a life-changing performance for me. I still get chills when I watch it, even now.
