nwlman : I have the CD "Performance" - see above - it has TMOAS and 13 other superb tracks incl. "I dreamed a dream" (Les Mis), "Anything but lonely" & "Love Changes Everyting" (Aspects of L.), "Only He" (Starlight Ex.), and possibly the best - "In one of my weaker moments"
This reminds me of the time I did a compare and contrast essay of Marti Webb and The Supremes for a women's studies class that I took on a whim in college. Needless to say, I figured out that Marti was more empowered. I compared Webb's "Take That Look Off Your Face" with The Supremes' "Love Child" and realized that music changed radcially between the 60s and the 80s. Not all of it good, but Marti was one of the best artists from that era, IMHO.
Just seen that the producers of such massive touring hits as South Pacific, 42nd Street, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and many more have done a revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical Oklahoma which stars Marti Webb!
I've just booked my tickets for Blackpool - a tour list is available at the producers website - just search UK Productions on Google.
Wow, at 2:29 Marti can really hold a note! I remember hearing this on the radio as a child and seeing her on all the variety shows. Everyone loved this song!
