  • this is best i could find on youtube i was trying to make them in illustrator i didn't know how to make them work as buttons thx.

  • You took what should be a simple explanation and made it... SIMPLE! Thanks for the effort!

  • Thank you so much for the simple buttons instruction. I have just started to make my own menus and I have been tearing my hair out with the association for the buttons - I almost gave up and started to go back to Library menus. Thank you so much. Wonderful job!

  • Sounds like microsoft sam ^^

  • wow finally!!! thanks

  • Thank you so much. i am starting my first project for my step daughter when she went to paris. for my first go i found this very easy to follow and i hope to add a video responce very soon.

  • @MrDictatorDesigns

Thanks, i look forward to it :)

  • I have made a pop-up menu in Photoshop, consisting of eight black buttons. I also created eight red buttons to serve as 'selection' buttons. So standard the buttons are black, when selected one of them is red, but now ow want to make it blue for when it's activated. Do you know how to do this?!

Sorry for my bad English btw.

  • @Emieliboy

At 3:00 i talk about making a PS "high lite" layer. You may have to go back to PS and make a new layer in blue.

I have not used encore since about the time i made this video, so i am not certain.

  • Can you make motion menus using this method?

  • @TheFlyingTiger129

Sorry, but i don't have any idea. I have not worked with motion menus.

  • @MicroWare1 Wait, I got an idea! Maybe if you deleted the background layer in Photoshop, imported the buttons and the motion menu in encore, and put the buttons on top! Do you think that is possible?

  • thanks !!

  • Thank you for this tutorial on buttons!!! I had to figure this out for a DVD! Now i can complete it! THANK YOU!! :D

  • Great tutorial...thanks!

  • This was a very easy to follow tutorial. I think it's actually going to work! Thanks for putting this together so much!

  • Like step by step with the mouse, Thanks

  • thanks mate

  • thanks! a real life saver, bub :)

  • One of my button goes diagonally across my menu which makes a large selection area, covering most of my menu. I have other buttons within this area which highlight when the diagonal button is pressed. Is there any way I can make this selection area smaller?

  • @kastheo

    I don't know.

All that i can think of is:

    1. Is the highlight what EN thinks is the button? If so, change the size of it.

    2. Make a smaller version of the same picture/text (drop opacity to zero) as the actual button and just place your larger original button on top of it to trick EN.

If you find a better answer, please let us know.

  • Another question I have is that in most tutorials videos are imported from the hard drive. What if you have a wedding video project on Premiere 4 and you wanna work with that on Encore? Do you import sequences from Premiere onto Encore or do you have to export sequences into movie files first?

  • Either way will work.

    From PR:

File, Adobe dynamic link,Send to encore.

    From En:

File,Import as, Asset (i think that is the option).

  • Very simple and useful! Thank you. I have one question though.

In my project I have the main menu, selected scenes menu and bonuses menus, all the links on those menus are somehow linked to the same source.

For example, in the Bonuses menu I have 3 buttons - Photos, Musical Clip and Honeymoon Video. When I link either of them to their respective source (chapter, video or timeline), others are somehow automatically linked to that same source. What's wrong?

  • I would look in your flow chart.

The title sequence should have buttons 1-3 labeled and then linked to the file that you want (pics, honey moon etc).

I am not an expert on encore. I have only made 2 dvd's thus far. I may not have all the information that you need.

  • This is great video. Very nice. This is what I needed!

  • Thanks for the great video. Your tutorial was very helpful.
