I have 3 little chinchilla's they love making a mess ! I seem to have a little desert every time they clean themselves plus my chinchilla Sophie is a right sand hog.

@rufiebooz they certainly can lol , My chinchilla Maybelle is a very clever chinchilla she has learn't that if she runs at the door with enough speed she can get up it enough to bounce off it and onto my desk

But of course some pet store ones are fine, it depends on the chinchilla. Some of the most tame chinnies can be from the pet store. Just trust me, if you have a choice, get your chinchilla from a breeder.

I got 2 chinchillas they are 3 months old now and they're already used to me :) I suggest NEVER get a chinchilla from the pet store!! Get it from a breeder! Mine took 1 month to tame and pet store ones can take up to a year! Seriously! They get stressed from all the people at the pet store. Little kids squeezing them, tapping the glass, chasing them. It affects them a lot. Trust me. I've had a pet store one and my dad ended up taking it back after 2 years. :(

@HANNAHisAbadNAME true, but hey they're saying that every pet is worthy of a cosy home, besides you're saving the chin from very stressful environment .. Sometimes I just can't stand and look how these chins suffer in little narrow cages, which aren't suitable even for the hamsters.

The funniest moment is when the grey chin bathes in the carpet when she/he can't go to the bath house. So cute :D I got the same bath house. I bought it yesterday.
