Oh and the cops rarely show the first two trial dates, and probably will not show the final trial date. So my advice don't bother with a lawyer for the criminal complaint. Get a lawyer for the civil complaint.
As far as the camera being damaged, hey they can always lie and say it was accidental, or the young lady got emotional. I lived at 23rd and south yrs ago, did call the police once about some noise, the operator on the 911 system yawned twice. It was around 2:30am. As someone who was there, I still have some questions. Why was the van parked behind the venue fot the entire show? This: "due to no parking anywhere on that part of South Street", is not an excuse. I've lived in that area for years and have been to hundreds of shows. There are never vehicles parked on that street for more than a few minutes at a time. If the Philly parking authority had walked by instead of the cops, that van would have been towed hours before this incident ever took place.
If the band was so intent on complying with the police and quickly loading their van, why was the street full of fans? Were they helping load? Was the crew doing anything to break up the crowd so that they could load and move the van? When was the first ticket written or where they all written simultaneously?
You sat that the arrest wasn't resisted and nothing but calm words were spoken, but even the videos show the door being pushed out to the cops and a push/punch thrown in the cop's direction. What do you call that? What about the constant "fuck the pigs', etc comments clearly heard on the videos and coming from the band crews and fans? Where did those come from and when did they start? It is obvious from the videos that it begins before Chris V was hit, so what was the excuse before then?

As the one member from mercy mercedes attempted to back the van out he accidently ran over a water bottle that was lying in the street causing it to burst all over the cops. This angered them more and they proceded to write another ticket and told him that his van will be impounded. T-fair (trevor fair) We the kings tour manager came out to see what was happening

Where you there, or are you basing your opinion on the video? I was there and the incident started getting out of hand several minutes before the video starts. I came out of the house because of the commotion. And it wasn't South St., it was Kater St., which is behind the venue. There aren't supposed to be be any cars parked there, which is what started this whole thing. Of course people who live there expect some noise because of where they live, but this was a very unique situation.

they all need to be fired, especially the idiot that shined his flashlight at the camera. you have a right to record the arrest. I'm guessing the charge was disorderly conduct, which is a waste of time. the courts in philly are full of shit like this. Oh and the cops rarely show the first two trial dates, and probably will not show the final trial date. So my advice don't bother with a lawyer for the criminal complaint. Get a lawyer for the civil complaint.

As far as the camera being damaged, hey they can always lie and say it was accidental, or the young lady got emotional. I lived at 23rd and south yrs ago, did call the police once about some noise, the operator on the 911 system yawned twice. It was around 2:30am. I repeated my complaint gave my name, and the location,. He yawned again, I mean I hate to say this, but it is their job to respond. Of cours no officers showed. Moved about two months later

As someone who was there, I still have some questions. Why was the van parked behind the venue fot the entire show? This: "due to no parking anywhere on that part of South Street", is not an excuse. I've lived in that area for years and have been to hundreds of shows. There are never vehicles parked on that street for more than a few minutes at a time. If the Philly parking authority had walked by instead of the cops, that van would have been towed hours before this incident ever took place.

If you think I'm an ass for asking these questions, fine. But what do you think any attorney/investigator/judge is going to ask of any of the people involved or the witnesses? If the bands or witnesses can't answer these questions, they have no case. These rosy stories of the band crews' 'innocence' along with these videos aren't enough.

As the one member from mercy mercedes attempted to back the van out he accidently ran over a water bottle that was lying in the street causing it to burst all over the cops. After a performance at TLA in Philadelphia on April 26, 2009 on the Bamboozle Road Tour alongside Forever The Sickest Kids, Never shout never, The Cab and Mercy Mercedes. Mercy Mercedes was parked behind the venue loading their van due to no parking anywhere on that part of South Street. Four police officers on bikes came and told every one under the age of 18, that they had to leave due to a curfew.

Btw, I'm not saying that the cops were saints in the situation. I'm just saying that the idea that the crew guys were 'innocent' victims and the crowd didn't cause things to escalate is ludicrous. Whether its being overly aggresive or stopping traffic by double parking to get smokes, coffee, etc, I hate it when cops abuse their power. But this isn't a cut and dry case of police brutality. The attitudes of the crew and crowd made a bad situation much worse than it had to be.

your street being South street? wtf do you expect? you live in a area known for late night crowds that can exceed 30-40 people on any night in the week... Where you there, or are you basing your opinion on the video? I was there and the incident started getting out of hand several minutes before the video starts. I came out of the house because of the commotion. And it wasn't South St., it was Kater St., which is behind the venue. There aren't supposed to be be any cars parked there, which is what started this whole thing. Of course people who live there expect some noise because of where they live, but this was a very unique situation.
