  • I recall seeing this commercial in the early 1970s.

  • i call bullshit on where a kid can be a king if you ask them i want 4 whoppers n 3 large fries n they gave you the total n you said to them im the king i get free food they'll kick your ass out of there faster than flames start going high to the sky lmao XD

  • Now I want some Burger King! Crap, I set myself up!

  • if kids are king jerry sanducky must be there

  • Please bring back this version of the "King" since its less ugly and terrifying than the one they were using in commercials for awhile lately.

  • The late late 60s early 70s are awesome! This commercial is probably from between 1967 and 1972. In those days, color tv became quite popular.

  • 1960s? I remember seeing this commercial around 1971 and 1972!

  • Last time I was at BK, they turned my money into crappy food.

  • @soylentteal

Yep, is it the quality of the food or is it the people preparing it? BK used to have some tasty food, I lived in S Fl where the King originated and it sure isn't the same. Of course 15 cent hambergers maybe made the taste better!

  • I can see Family Guy making fun of this.

  • That was cute.

  • i like bk more than mickey d's

  • @123stephenno

But they shall never beat Wendy's!

  • MIGHT AND MAGIC !!!!!!!!

  • I miss the plastic hand-puppets.

  • He turns me into a black cat for a day at a time, and people try to hit me with their cars... =(

  • Right before he was executed...

  • omg!!!! I remember this....damn I'm old! LOL

  • Burger King finally parted ways with Crispin Porter & Bogusky, the ad agency who has been with them for most of the past decade. Which means that pretty soon you might be able to walk into a BK without being assaulted by their gods-awful in-store marketing. I'd take Jay Ward revivalist ads over "the King" every day.

  • Burger King: Now Hiring Aging Hippies

  • back when fastfood n shit wasnt a fucking problem

  • 1960's commercials, where people who were on acid made commercials...

  • This was actually a clip of Gandalfs teenage years, when he worked at burger king during his time at middle earth high.

  • @Train2Failure He didn't like it there -- no beer and no pipe-weed!

  • @Train2Failure HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • Shame on you Gandalf!

  • At least it's not the guy in the creepy plastic mask.

  • What kind of stupid slogan was that? I want it MY way!

  • if youre a burger and your depressed commit suicide by eatign yourself.at least your death will be tasty

  • That would be soooo cool if I turned into a whopper.I would probully die from eating myself.

  • The "french fries" moment cracked me up every time I saw it as a kid and it still does.

  • duz the announcer guy sound like the crab from spongebob to anyone else at the end?

  • The King sounds a lot like the cartoon character Screwy Squirrel.

  • cute

  • Thats from the 70s

  • So much better than the mcdonalds commercials of the time

  • I think these are more 70's vintage. I remember this one in its first run.

  • I think I got a plastic hand puppet of The King from BK when I was a kid. Ah, memories.

  • Where even female children are kings!

  • I hadn't seen that one in 40 years!

  • I told my girlfriend to make me a sandwich and .... she hit me in the head with a frying pan.

  • Aired in the 1970's not 60's

  • now make me a sammich

  • his tricks never worked.thats why he works at a fast food place

  • I hate to say it, but I'm ancient enough that I actually remember this commercial.

  • ... and fat

  • I vaguely remember this commercal airing in the mid 60s. Definitely remember the slogan though...

  • Where kids are king? Wow didn't know it was originally fast food for kids.

  • Ohh my god that was amazing

  • You are what you eat ?

  • Everytime when i go to the burger king everybody pray to me.

  • This is from the 70s... I remember it as a child.

  • GODDAMN FUCKING MAGITIONS FUCKING UP MAI ORDER!

  • @123rezo123 Your one to talk Lawlz and Wawlz.

  • I just hate when the magician behind the burger king counter turns me into a whopper

  • @RadiohEraser LOL!!!

  • Magician, turn me into a rouge bad boy chick magnet!

  • 5 people were turned into Whoppers and got Eaten

  • Kid's Are King

  • Most people that work at Burger King are not perfect.

  • Magician, make me a whopper...

  • i remember these commercials....popular, but i dont think they sold many burgers

  • I think that wizard changed his name to Dr. Weird, moved to New Jersey, and created the Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

  • @EricSchwin22 You must live in a place with a lot of evangelical health nuts. I haven't had that problem at all whether I'm at the all you can eat pizza buffet or eating a mountain of fries soaked in burger grease.

  • what a great ad bet the kids loved it to bad they dont have ad like that today instead of the ads they do have

  • He's quite vindictive, "look who's working at Burger King!"

  • Make me a buck double on the house. LOL

  • Ok im king your all my bitches now

  • omg i sooo loved this commercial!!

  • 1969

  • This is not early to mid 60's. I remember this commercial well, and I was much older than birth to 5 years old. Besides, it would not be in color that far back. Good to see it again, though.

  • Always targeting the kids to make them fat and obsese :(

But at the same time, it's...so....GOOD!

  • Lol, this is back in the day, before the Burger King became a creepy stalker.

  • The first "Bun Halves" logo dates to May 1969.

  • The voice of the King sounds like the same actor who played the giant carrot-man on Lost In Space!

  • That was from 1970, not the earley/late 60s.

  • This is from the 70's.

  • more like early 1970's.

  • well this burger KING is far less creepy than the one you see today!

  • Comment removed

  • i want burger king now lol

  • i remember that line "Where kids can be kings"

  • I remember the original Burger King cartoon guy, he was on all their stuff and I had a tshirt with him, most people don't remember that dude, time to bring him out of moth balls.

  • i hat burgerking the food is so disgustintg! mac donalds 4 ever :)

  • "hey asshole, you turned me into a bag of god damn french fries !" "well nobody's perfect"

  • Early 70's

  • This commercial looks late 60's...

  • This commercial would've aired sometime as early as May of 1969.

  • There's a guy who works at my local BK who's a magician too, when I hand him money he magically makes the correct change disappear into his pocket

  • @ThePoopChef Haha, you should make that into an FML XD

  • @ThePoopChef well at least in your U don't have a fukin' indu which spits into the fryer

  • that new burger king just creeps me out!!

  • 0:26 to 0:29

who ever said "bugerking. Where kids are king!"

sounds just like mr. krabs from spongebob!

  • He stalks you at night

  • Wow... I hate the new burger king commercials.... the king scares me!!!! yea hes all really big n smiles alot and showes up in randomly awkward places . . . . stalker!!!

  • Wow, a BAG of fries. I remeber those. Thats all they had back then.

  • I remember that too, it wasin't very long ago.

  • Is that Allen Swift as the King? He voiced Simon Bar Sinister on Underdog as the voice sounds like it slightly

  • "Simon says... make me a whopper!"

    *poof!*

  • ahh, the days of simple commercials! The 'new king' reminds me of a bad dream.

  • @propatria431 lol xD

  • im not suprised he didnt serve the black kid. im not being racist but america had big problems between whites and blacks in the 60s.

  • yah that happens to me everytime too. and at taco bell. no one can ever get shyt right .

  • I don't know about BK but at McDonalds they'll make you the wrong thing 24/7 so just say "I'd like the Random Meal, please." I never eat fast food but that's what always happens to my family when they go there lol.

  • That's because the counter staff are all illegals who can't speak or understand English.

  • So true, or are actual citizens whom still can't speak or understand English.

  • That's incredibly unlikely.

  • I'm talking about people that butcher the English language with slang and lazy speaking.

  • WTF! AWESOME!

  • Didn't even say 'please'.

  • Burger King's "Bun Halves" logo dates to 1969; it was slightly modified in 1994 and then re-revamped by 1999.

  • I got this from S2M4AS's video.... ._.

  • me too...LOL.

  • Wow. No body says "BAG of FRENCH FRIES" anymore...

  • liked it

  • that was heartwarming, cuz its good to be called a king, by a burger company, when you're a kid :P

  • This looks more like the 70's...I don't think this is the mid-60's...

  • burger king had made a couple of tv adverts 1958-1959 but they were not prerecorded so are therefore lost, the earliest known mc donalds advert is here on you tube and that dates from 1963.

This bk advert is likley to have been 1973-1974 and very unlikely to have been made prior to this as this actual cartoon style advert was made october-november 1972

  • THE MCDONALDS ONE IS CREEPY, RONALD LOOKS LIKE A CYCOPATH,

and well, who else thinks that what ronald says, you know, "I like t do what ever boys and girls like to do!" is a littlesrnge and...WRONG?

  • I wonder when burger king comercials stopped having magic in them

  • This was inbetween sometime in 1969-mid 1970's. I can tell because there was a pre-logo before this 1969-1994 logo.

  • this was clearly early to mid 70's...freakin people will put up anything here

  • Incredible.

  • This ad is from about 1971.

  • is this more 1970's?

  • @dudemantwo

Yes, because BK's "Bun Halves" logo is seen here; making this commercial airing dating from at least the summer of '69 (sorry, Bryan Adams).

  • i was about 2 say.... they had burger king in the 60's?

  • I believe that BK was founded about the same time as McD's, I don't know how long it took them to get big though.

  • McDs - 1940

    Burger King - 1954

  • I don't think they count it until Ray Kroc took over.

  • Cool commercial :)

  • Anybody remember a cartoon commercial where the Burger King calms a lion with French fries? The kids say "Help! It's a man-eating lion!" The Burger King says, "No, it's a lion eating French fries!"

  • This ad reminds me of a Rocky and Bullwinkle routine.

  • OMG me 2!!

  • LOL well what's that supposed to say about Burger King. That they'll always mess up your order?

  • always have messed up my orders i guess your right bucha fuckups lol i'm glad u noticed that

  • @desmari90 Well at least that makes it accurate.

  • @desmari90 LOLOL WIN

  • @desmari90 But he still got the order right.

  • @desmari90 Pretty much.

  • @desmari90 then dont order so much damn food you pig!

  • i KING is better then a CREEPY FILTHY CLOWN

  • I luv burger king

  • Vintage early to mid 1960's Burger King commercial back when the King was a fun loving cartoon not some creepy big headed creature like today :@()

    I blame Puffy Combs

TAKE YOUR HAND OUT OF MY BURGER KING

  • thats fun .. I liked it

  • The title for this commercial is wrong. This is a commercial that is probably from 1971 - 1973. This was the time of the "Captain Crunch" Burger King. Later on in about 1974 he was replaced by a real guy in a costume who was in the commercials until 1980, when they started wiith the Lea Thompson/Elizabeth Shue Commercials.

  • I don't think that "Nobody's perfect!" is a good line to end that commercial on lol, I would not want to eat at a restuarant with that motto. :D

  • omg i agree i wouldn't wanna eat somewhere with that motto either!!!

  • so who came out fisrt BK or mcdonalds

  • it's like which came forst chicken or the egg, who knows, but McDonald's came out in 1954, I forgot what the old name of the BK was

  • InstaBurger King

  • they should have stayed with the kid the one now is fucking creepy. the big fucking smile

  • lol The King from when he was a kid till now like a Man

  • Long Live The King!!!

  • that is funny but yet so true. lol

  • why would i want to listen to someone to tell me to eat at that joint especially a KING!

  • from counter person to BK's main mascot

    there is promotion in Fastfood!

  • Great find...the audio lags behind the video, but as the magician himself said, "Well, nobody's perfect!"

I'm old enough to remember the one with the Tortoise and the Hare...mid '60's.

  • that burger king is creepy, well so is the one now, but it certainly doesn't make me want any burgers!

  • WOW I don't remember Burger King in the early '70's... I thought Burger King came out in the late '70's/early '80's... I love these retro-mercials. Thanks for sharing :)

  • burger king came out in 1954

  • I didn't know that. I don't think it came to my town until sometime in the 70's... thankx.

  • Wow

  • Allen Swift was the voice of the "King" in these early '70s ads- I certainly do remember THIS one!

  • Allen Swift was also did the V.O. for the Ton & Jerry cartoons in the early 1960's (the Gene Dietch era) & also starred as a king inthe "Many Moons" segment in the animated film Alice In Paris (also directed by Gene Dietch.)

  • Sorry I meant to say TOM not TON. My bad [:P

  • Yes, this is from the early 1970s. I loved the old cartoon King.
