Burger King finally parted ways with Crispin Porter & Bogusky, the ad agency who has been with them for most of the past decade. Which means that pretty soon you might be able to walk into a BK without being assaulted by their gods-awful in-store marketing. I'd take Jay Ward revivalist ads over "the King" every day.

burger king had made a couple of tv adverts 1958-1959 but they were not prerecorded so are therefore lost, the earliest known mc donalds advert is here on you tube and that dates from 1963.

This bk advert is likley to have been 1973-1974 and very unlikely to have been made prior to this as this actual cartoon style advert was made october-november 1972

The title for this commercial is wrong. This is a commercial that is probably from 1971 - 1973. This was the time of the "Captain Crunch" Burger King. Later on in about 1974 he was replaced by a real guy in a costume who was in the commercials until 1980, when they started wiith the Lea Thompson/Elizabeth Shue Commercials.
