My Band Overlord opened for them at Stage One in Pittsburgh PA back in the mid '80s. Billy told us about Farm Life as a kid birthing a calf. Hilarious.
I followed Paul and Dave since the days with the Tweeds When Jim Dunnigan played Bass and they had Tim Murphy on rythym guitar. I thought for sure that they would make it big but sadly they never really got out of western New York. There were so many great groups from Buffalo that could have done well like Wilmer and the Dukes, The Road and more. All I can say is they had great musical talent and incredible vocals, but (don't take this wrong) the songwriting just wasn't there.
Hey "Wag2112": "this gal", if I'm not mistaken, is named Penny Stamp. I used to work with her sister...and no, I don't think she was ever a metal head..
Great video brings back lots of memories I also saw them at the fairgrounds a great show and great band. For all you old Talas fans there was a reunion cd from 1998 recorded in Buffalo its called if we only knew then what we know now
It is really sad in away that talas never got there big break.Definitely one of the soul reasons for me to start playing the bass guitar.and i have had the pleasure of meeting billy at the hamburg fairgrounds gig.
WOW! Thank you! What a piece of history for the band. Billy Should have a book or something written about his career. At least the early years. Did you see how new his bass looks? Is that really The Wife?
LOOOL! THE WIFE WITH FINISH STILL ON IT!! Thx for noticing! And Billy actually called "Bill" like if he wasnt a total freak! Houston, we got a space-time paradox here!
OMG! Where did you find this? Awsome stuff and many memories watching it. I took in my first TALAS show in or about 1978 and quickly became a "TALAS BELIEVER". I barely missed a show between '78/'85. Later linups were exciting but to me Paul,Dave & Billy was always magic. Gotta go break out the tape right now! 3 thumbs up!!!
Talas' originals were and still are fantastic !!!
