Liberals, whether black or white, generally assume that we black people are too stupid to be able to care for our own interests...we take no responsibility for anything.

You don't need a college degree or to be "rich" to know if you can or can't afford a mortgage payment. We make excuses for ourselves and it's resulting in our people being convinced that we really are as stupid as white libs say we are. No one forced people to take out loans they knew they couldn't repay.

Well the thing is, that in some of the examples she mentioned there's no money to be tracked, and answering 'who benefits' does not necessarily answer what the actual cause of the problem is. I mean when there are problems of people simply being detached or impassive as to the issue, rather than somebody having an agenda to prevent something from changing...

What's implicit in this woman's disconnected speech is that most persons are stupid and cannot take care of themselves. I would disagree. I am in finance and I do not buy certain investment products such as some derivatives because I don't understand them. It's important not to invest in something you don't know anything about. It's quite evident that this lady wants her grubby hands on more of my money.

It is illegal to force someone to sign a mortgage contract; predatory lending is perhaps a misnomer for this reason. It's common sense not to sign something that one doesn't understand, even if the counter party encourages you to do so. I, as an individual, am obligated to the terms of a contract only after I have signed. A bank official cannot sign the mortgage papers for me. Walk away from the signing table if the terms of the contract are unclear. And never sign for a balloon mortgage.

she just did a "sistah to sistah" revival at my church (new mt. zion a.m.e.c., tallahasse, fl) on october 1-2, 2007. oct 1 was my b-day and i handed out the flyers to the event as b-day party invites. God must have been in on it because her sermon title was "the party's over here!" i was so blessed! it was like a real party! we had music, we danced, and we had fun. this lady is an awesome woman of God indeed!
