@eatdatpussy445 basically programs need to use up memory to run, ei. firefox needs 150mb of space to run and that beast laptop had 8gb of space available. which means he can run alot of programs at a time.

A fully upgraded MacBook Pro with 8GB of RAM, 750 GB HD @ 7200rpm, Sandybidge core i7, and 2GB dedicated graphics card costs $2800!!! You get all of that, a 1080p screen, WiMax radio (4G), USB 3.0, HDMI, much more for $1600
I wasnt arguing about the price, The MBP has a quad core i7 and a Radeon 6770. Why dont i see those specs on the 15z? The least Dell could do was offer those as options because the outgoing XPS 15 had a quad core and a GT555M. Thats what im arguing about. Screw the 1080p display if it doesnt have the specs to do it justice. Or maybe its because the 15z cant handle the heat from the higher end chips, and if thats the case then yeah, totally disappointing if a MBP can handle it...
@abhimanyu95 It actually depends on what people value more; performance or good looks. The MacBook pro 15" has got it right with both high performance and good looks. But the 15z has more good looks than performance...Zack prefers that, but I would prefer getting 40fps in Crysis 2 at high settings so I'll go for the dv6 quad edition, which is cheaper than the 15z AND has better performance than the MBP ;)
@3vicen I mainly play TESIV: Oblivion and it gets really hot around the left side of the computer. But i am not sure whether it would overheat since i nevel really played that long. Max amount is probably 2-3 hours.

@RelytNosliw Yeah Sure! Well, I can;t say much for the envy, because I haven't personally used it, but the XPS keyboard is very comfortable! It really comes down to personal preference on if you like a chicklet style keyboard or not. But I sure have had no problems with this keyboard, I actually really enjoy typing on it! I hope this helps and that you will keep me posted on your decision! They are both great computers but just from looking at the Envy, I like the XPS a LITTLE more :)

I really want the review to be good so I can top all the others and hopefully it'll be up later today! but hopefully I can answer those to things. The fan isnt always noisy. The more tasks you preform of course, the more the fan will be used. but I tested the fan on GTA Vice City and it only REALLY revved up every 5-10 minutes and that was only for about 3-4 seconds. @ZachsTechHelp101 sounds Superb man!, can't believe your only 14, you know a hell of a lot more than I did on this and I was reading specs and blogs since release. And there's definitely no rush on my part, just make sure you grab a copy of Crysis 1 since there are a million reviews on pt.2 in other XPS's (obviously older ones), game should be about 10 bucks. Just a warning though, watch out for running that on DX11, Im not 100% sure it works in it. 5000 views easy just put Crysis test on tittle
@tttwas no! I thought I would only get around 4 to 5 hours but to my surprise, I ended up getting nearly EIGHT HOURS!!!!! I was shocked! That was with doing some light HD editing and Web-surfing. If you aren't concerned about price, I would go with the XPS 15z! the baseline 15in MacBook BASELINE starts at $1799 USD...the XPS FULLY UPGRADED is $1699 USD (this is the one that I have) In my opinion with the Dell, you get better specs and a sexy sleek computer for $100 less. Let me know what you think!
@samsandy121 Well in that case I'd say the XPS will suit your needs quite well! there are many available configurations for the XPS so you can decide on entry level for $999 USD ( i wouldnt reccomend the entry model, I'd go a step up, depending on your budget) The reason I recommend the XPS is that 1. You get better specs and a Full 1080p display which is great for gaming and movies. Other than that it comes down to which OS you prefer because they are both GREAT (I just like the XPS Better :)

Does it come with the windows recovery disk or do you have to get that separate? Also do the fans get loud when playing games or rendering videos and how does the keyboard feel?
@RonnieB5555 hey, well first of all, I dont think the disc is incuded :/ the only disc in the box (haha :p) is the dell drivers and utilities. Unless they put the recovery on that disk, then the answer is no :/ secondly, the fans do not get too loud. I was pleasantly surprised because I do a lot of editing and the fans would only REALLY pick up in noise every once in a while. Other than that it is just barely a hum but not loud at all i shouldnt say "hum" but you know what I mean. Continued
@RonnieB5555 about the keyboard ITS A DREAM TO TYPE ON!!!! It feels very similar to the MacBook Pro's keyboard. As you probably know, it's backlit, so it looks amazing in the dark and I haven't notice any flex whatsoever. the keys are nice and spacious and I like the shape. My only complaint is that there is no dedicated volume/play/fastforward key. You have to use Fn+F8 and F9

@ebullitionox1 hi, well first off I dont have Crysis, but in terms of graphics this computer handles things very well. The graphics are very smooth and lag-free. This also depends on how your computer is configured. Mine has 2 GB of dedicated graphics memory. Along with the i7 processor with turbo boost and 8 gbs of ram...this computer will run just about anything worry free. So overall the graphics are AMAZING. im running out of room so ill make another comment about the rest
@ebullitionox1 The slot loading drive has worked very well for me! i used it to import my iTunes library from an old computer and all of the discs read fine and quickly! As for the battery, I couldn't be happier with it! I unplugged it at about Noon yesterday and didn't have to plug it in till about 8 o'clock and i still had 20% left soooo I hope this helped and i would MOST DEFINITELY recommend this laptop to you :)

thanks for the awesome vids on this lappy, hope you post more videos. I have a couple of questions about it; does the laptop get noticeably hot when in use, around the wrist rest and the bottom of the system? Also, is there any keyboard flex? Thanks in advance for helping!

@altamushg Hey I'll answer your questions just out of MY experience so far. Well in terms of heat, while just doing simple tasks like surfing and listening to music, it isnt hot (I would just say a little warm) but thats normal for just about any laptop to have SOME heat. HOWEVER, when gaming and editing HD video, the temperature starts to rise but again its not VERY hot. People complain about the fan BUT it only gets loud for 3 or 4 seconds to clear the heat. ( the heat vents out of the back)

You say that your laptop comes with a 2mega pixal webcam. Are you sure it isn't a 1.3MP? In Australia we only get a 1.3MP webcam and not 2MP.

I really want the review to be good so I can top all the others and hopefully it'll be up later today! but hopefully I can answer those to things. The fan isnt always noisy. The more tasks you preform of course, the more the fan will be used. but I tested the fan on GTA Vice City and it only REALLY revved up every 5-10 minutes and that was only for about 3-4 seconds. @ZachsTechHelp101 sounds Superb man!, can't believe your only 14, you know a hell of a lot more than I did on this and I was reading specs and blogs since release. And there's definitely no rush on my part, just make sure you grab a copy of Crysis 1 since there are a million reviews on pt.2 in other XPS's (obviously older ones), game should be about 10 bucks. Just a warning though, watch out for running that on DX11, Im not 100% sure it works in it. 5000 views easy just put Crysis test on tittle

@samsandy121 hey i hope I can help you with your decision! It is a very tough choice because I thought about the MacBook Pro too. It comes down to what you will primarily be using it for. If you aren't concerned about price, I would go with the XPS 15z! the baseline 15in MacBook BASELINE starts at $1799 USD...the XPS FULLY UPGRADED is $1699 USD (this is the one that I have) In my opinion with the Dell, you get better specs and a sexy sleek computer for $100 less. Let me know what you think!

@samsandy121 Well in that case I'd say the XPS will suit your needs quite well! there are many available configurations for the XPS so you can decide on entry level for $999 USD ( i wouldnt reccomend the entry model, I'd go a step up, depending on your budget) The reason I recommend the XPS is that 1. You get better specs and a Full 1080p display which is great for gaming and movies. Other than that it comes down to which OS you prefer because they are both GREAT (I just like the XPS Better :)

Does it come with the windows recovery disk or do you have to get that separate? Also do the fans get loud when playing games or rendering videos and how does the keyboard feel?

@RonnieB5555 hey, well first of all, I dont think the disc is incuded :/ the only disc in the box (haha :p) is the dell drivers and utilities. Unless they put the recovery on that disk, then the answer is no :/ secondly, the fans do not get too loud. I was pleasantly surprised because I do a lot of editing and the fans would only REALLY pick up in noise every once in a while. Other than that it is just barely a hum but not loud at all i shouldnt say "hum" but you know what I mean. Continued

@RonnieB5555 about the keyboard ITS A DREAM TO TYPE ON!!!! It feels very similar to the MacBook Pro's keyboard. As you probably know, it's backlit, so it looks amazing in the dark and I haven't notice any flex whatsoever. the keys are nice and spacious and I like the shape. My only complaint is that there is no dedicated volume/play/fastforward key. You have to use Fn+F8 and F9

@ebullitionox1 hi, well first off I dont have Crysis, but in terms of graphics this computer handles things very well. The graphics are very smooth and lag-free. This also depends on how your computer is configured. Mine has 2 GB of dedicated graphics memory. Along with the i7 processor with turbo boost and 8 gbs of ram...this computer will run just about anything worry free. So overall the graphics are AMAZING. im running out of room so ill make another comment about the rest

@ebullitionox1 The slot loading drive has worked very well for me! i used it to import my iTunes library from an old computer and all of the discs read fine and quickly! As for the battery, I couldn't be happier with it! I unplugged it at about Noon yesterday and didn't have to plug it in till about 8 o'clock and i still had 20% left soooo I hope this helped and i would MOST DEFINITELY recommend this laptop to you :)
