For the life of me, i cannot understand why this movie wasnt a big hit... i've loved it for 20 years and still do. Large parts of it are absolutely hysterical (this scene being the perfect example) :)
i've watched this scene dozens of times, and i laugh uncontrollably every, single time. dom deluise is simply, insanely brilliant, and leo mckern show unexpected levels of absurdity. they must have loved making this scene. so funny, it's beautiful. bless them all.

can someone tell me where i can find something funny from dom? i think i'm getting frustrated now. i've watched quite a few of them but i can't seem crack a smile.
God, I haven't seen this in years! There's little funnier than dom hitting someone with a toupe. And Marty Feldman, and Gene Wilder... how can you possibly go wrong? That's right, you CAN'T! :D
My favorite Dom scene. It's a shame SHSB didn't reach a wider audience. Written by Gene Wilder while riding on the success of Young Frankenstein, it didn't hit. I saw it a dozen times and loved it! My sincerest condolences to his family. Dom Deluise is a name that's resided in my personal pantheon of comedic heroes for 35 years. "Why don't we all drink some very sexy wine". You brought many tears of laughter to many eyes. Salute, Dom. Rest in peace. I hear the food's good up there. ;)
from only having seen this clip, it looks like he's just practicing a scene, and that his character isn't supposed to really know italian... but again, I've only seen this one scene

No one on stage or off stage, has ever humped a leather office chair so convincingly.

I don;t what possessed Leo McKern to play Moriarty as an Irishman with tourettes syndrome. but I'm glad it did. He's amazing in this film, NEE-AH!

Leo McKern has indeed got a lovely face. Especially between 4:43 and 5:11. He looks like a smiling baby!

Leo McKern (Professor Moriarty) is absolutely ridiculous in this movie. All his facial tics and outbursts are just hilarious! Classic movie.
