DEFINING CURLS ON 4B HAIR

Yes, your hair is 4B. But you know some people have different types of hair on their head. a little bit of 4b, a little of 4a. Your hair turned out very nicely. Wish mine would do that! Great job! keep posting those videos.

Ummm this is not type 4b hair sorry. You did a nice job but l thought somebody actually found something for 4b hair. 4b curls are shaped as a "z" yours is shaped as an "s". So you have type 4a. l dont mean to be rude l just thought u should know that you have 4a hair sweety.

No I think you are right you are 4b. Alot of the times we just don't know how to define our curls. It took me 4 months to figure out how to do it. I'm still trying to get better at the "wash and go". I didn't use enough product and my hair can't be tooo clean (it will shrink too much) it has to be cowashed or something. My hair can't be sopping wet either. (Before I just rubbed gel on my hair and hoped for the magic to happen! lol).

You do have 4a hair, if you go by that system.

You have type 4a hair. Type 4b doesn't define like that. The loops, bends, zig zaggy structure of the hair shaft is too irregular to get definition like that — with any product or technique.

That said, your hair is lovely. Great job! Hope the technique you've shared works out well for others who have type 4A hair as well.

No, I'm referring to 4A and 4B hair. If folks are going by Andre Walker's hair typing system there is no 4C. From what I can visually tell, by the Andre Walker system, you have 4A spiral curls on your head. The internet community over the past several yrs have arbitrarily come up with a 4C type. Problem is there's no agreement on what that is or what the characteristis are. According to AWs chart 4A hair spirals; 4B hair is undefined. Problem w/4C is no one agrees w/what it is.

@nanayana3 As defined by Andre's ridiculous system that we give way to much time and attention to 4A hair spirals 4B hair zig zags as far as I can tell she has a zigzag pattern. People misinterpret what the system says because what he means by 4B having no curl definition is that it does not spiral ie "curl" zig zags technically would not be "curls." From what I can see she is 4B and I agree I have yet to see a true 4C. Now with that said the zig zags in 4B hair can be defined.

I don't mean to start anything, but nanayana3 is correct. TECHNICALLY, according to Andre's hair typing scale, your hair is 4a, because 4b textured hair is defined as hair that has NO CURL DEFINITION. Your hair naturally coils and curls. 4b hair has zig-zags, fuzzy wuzzies, and NO CURL PATTERN.

Girl we are living identical hair lives....I dang near think I'm 4c...but have been told 4b too. I will def be trying this technique when I take out my PS in a few weeks...I'm trying your kinki twist style first though. :)

Nice job. I'm surprised you say your hair is 4b because it looks like my hair which is 4a according to the Andre Walker system. Either way, your hair is beautiful. For some reason though, the last minute of the video just stops so I don't get to see the final results or whatever you have at the end.

Your hair is pretty never mind about the shrinkage. Mine looked like that - took forever to dry. I used way too much leave in. Did not know that was it till you mentioned it. Was grey forever. Had to rinse out. LOL. Yours looked real cute. Can you let us know what you did the following day pls? Also, I love that song by Fantasia.

@enaruvie The following day, I spritzed with water to loosen it back up a little bit and then I pulled the front back and tied it down to get waves...then put on a headband... it was cute... It looked really curly, like a jerry curl. I didnt care for it. Especially since it took forever to dry.
