By the way, I thought "my favourite" is bad, but the last word "penguin" is even tragically worse. Some Mr. Ng's supporters may accuse people (like me) of being too picky and overly-critical. However, these supporters must bear in mind that if Mr. Ng speaks the whole thing in Cantonese, nobody will make a big deal of it, provided he can speak Cantonese properly. The moral of the story - If public figures and celebrities cannot speak properly English, don't speak it at all.
As a public figure in HK (presumbly a metropolitan city), Mr. Ng should consider taking English class. It is nothing wrong with poor pronounciation. But if someone speaks horrendous English and yet without knowing it, (s)he is simply an ignoramus.
Comparing to the standards of grade 9(the grade I'm in) over here in Canada, your grammar is not bad but still not a 100%. Nobody is perfect, including you and me. I've probably made a lot of mistakes in my writing too but that doesn't mean I should write or speak at all!
It is just a crying shame that people think his pronounciation is perfect. I don't know which standard these people refer to (or if they have any). If these people use the Chinglish one, I have nothing to say because this is the best Mr. Ng can possibly do and I have sympathy for him.
