  • No it was the 730 they quit making them in the US in 1960 but in Argentina in 1961

  • 20series tractors were introduced at the end of 1963, the first ones came out of the factory in '64

6030 and 4320 were only available with synchro range

some industrial tractors with the "big engine" (531) came with powershift, like the 760A.

  • what else would you have done in that 8 seconds?

At least you could type 8 more question marks in a text window in that time!

  • @JDRobin86: I would have won a bull-riding contest. Any more stupid questions? LOL! Just give us some longer videos, and there won't be any complaints! (Well, at least not from me - can't speak for the masses.) Peace.

  • @superturbodiesel

I understand your point, and you are right about that. It's a short video wich doesnt say much.

I kept it on youtube because of the many comments on it. I've got longer videos on my acount ;)

  • An 8 second video????? WTF is that all about???? What a waste of my time!

  • dallas67560 i hate to burst your bubble but they didnt start making 4020's till 1963. Either its a 4010 or your years are off. An easy way to tell the difference between the 10 series and 20 series is the PTO lever. If its on the Right or mounted on the dash its a 4020 if its a little lever on the left side its a 4010.

  • @sornbergerfarms .......ummm....I hate to burst YOUR bubble but they didn't start making 4020s til 1965. They started making 3010s and 4010s in '63 when they quit with the old 2 cylinder poppers.

  • @sornbergerfarms .....as I find out....we were BOTH a little off the mark. According to a friend of mine who happens to be a John Deere dealer, 1960 was the last year for 2 cylinders. 10 series from 61-63 and 20 series from 64-72 with the mis-named 6030 lasting til 77. 30 series "sound guard" tractors were intro'd in late 72 for the 73 model year. 40 series "iron horses" intro'd in 78. And 50 series intro'd in 83. 55 series intro'd in 89 and 60 series in 92.

  • @sornbergerfarms no, actually it was the 830 in the 60's. In the 70's the came out with a 830 utility tractor 3cyly diesel.

  • iv never seen a 4020 tractor in that condition. that tractor looks great! my dad has a 61 4020 and we use it for just about every small job... wont pull the undercutter or the fallowmaster but it works great for a disk

  • I've never seen a 4020 with a powershift. my grandpa has a '69 and i love it. best tractor JD ever made!!

  • @badcompany4ever .....they made the 3020, 4020, 4320, 4520 and 4620 with powershift as well as syncro. I'm not really sure if the 6030 had powershift or not.

  • A great looking 4020 .. The best tractor ever made ... Love the powershift , ahead of it's time ...

  • except for a forn 8N , most tractors look better as a tricycle.

  • POWERSHIFT!!!!! HELL YEA!!!

  • no offence but i hate tricycle 4020's its a nice model but they shuda juss made wide front models

  • Same here. We got a gas 4020 with a narrow front end. This winter we are going to put on a wide front end.

  • @retard38756 Yeah our 1965 John Deere is a tricylce front end and I hate it. It makes them look smaller and wierd becasue you have to pull out the rear wheels so the thing won't tip on steep slopes.

  • @chkmag3610: Hate to burst your bubble, but a WIDE front tractor is no safer than a NARROW front tractor. In fact, a NF is actually more stable in many cases, until a certain point of tipping over. Regardless, it is the REAR wheel's TRACK (commonly known as the "rear wheel width" - which is technically wrong - as the proper term is it's "track") that ultimately controls a farm tractor's overall stability. Height & the overall center of gravity can also impact a tractor's stability as well.

  • @chkmag3610: Well, I do know everything there is to know. Just ask me, I'll tell ya. LOL I'm a former JD tech, & a college degreed Ag equipment engineer. They don't make narrow fronts anymore b/c the same basic reason that they don't make gas engine tractors anymore. Demand & changes in farming practices. Narrow fronts were designed predominantly for Row-Crop farming. Row crop farming isn't done with small equipment anymore. Also, paranoia against narrow fronts also drove a cease in production.

  • nice wheelie
