The TIE Fighter's wings look too small and stubby. Vader's TIE looks nice though.

why is it the empire builds very good looking ships that are so crap at manouvering think about it in ROTJ the ties cant fly around the death star at all 2 of them crash the only one that is probably the best is the tie interceptor

It's been awhile since I seen Vader's fighter in the original movie. Did it actually have missle launchers on it? Was that an addition Lucas made when he edited it for the newer version? Was it just an addition to give kids something to shoot?

@RynoGamerz G'day - Glad to hear you're interested. I would satrt with the original films then move onto the new releases rounded off with the Clone wars animated series. A lot of viewing there, but i think you will enjoy it if you just let your imagination take over. Enjoy

my TIE fighter is quite different, it hasn´t got this thing behind the cockpit and it has a big gate to enter it instead of two as yours

Vader's fighter is not TIE Advanced, it is special unit. TIE Advanced is different.

i'd imagin on the darth vader tie fighter since there is a x-wing on his targeting system you would think there would be a button where you hear vader saying"i have you now"then you hear some blaster sounds

Hello...Do you know which of the newer style Darth Vader Tie Fighters matches the large wing grey Saga full scale regular tie fighters? I'm trying to create the trench scene in my office and am having trouble finding a Vader Tie that perfectly matches the original grey color of the Ties in A New Hope...Looks like all of the newer Vader Ties are blueish in color?

It is not a "Tie Advanced". Darth Vader's ship was a Tie Interceptor, not a TIE fighter.

The original from 1977 did not have missiles or retractable guns. Everything else was generally the same.

And, yes, the original had only the lights under the cockpit light up with sounds.

ehm no you are wrong, Vader´s TIE is called Tie Advanced x1 and later in a video game, it was added concursion missiles.

Tie interceptor is another type of fighter with fang-like wings

Don't the tie fighters have light-up guns (red lights) and sounds? I thought for sure you could stick a battery in it and shoot away.
