  • i also replaced my buick starter. that was easy;) kinda lol

  • i have a silver 2000 buick regal ls and none of my lights show on my dash. the gas gauge is all messed up. it switches side to side. when i have more than half of a tank the gauge stays on full then around half of a tank its always on low. im never sure when i need to get gas. but im pretty sure thats in the gas tank. i do really need to fix my dashboard. its all messed up.

  • I have the same problem with my dashboard blinking.

So I don't have to replace the ignition key cylinder just the switch?

  • @icecoldcity What car do you have?

  • @regaljh

2002 Buick & I have the same problem.

I was wondering is it easy to change the ignition switch.

Cuz i'm getting the wire off of ebay.

I want to install myself instead of paying loads of money

    on a mechanic

  • my grand prix is doing the same thing lol

  • where did you get the switch??? I got the same problem right now!!! help me please...

  • @wishocolat You can get them at any autoparts stores. Rockauto.com is good.. They call them "ignition starter switch".

  • @regaljh thanks!!! one question more!!! I have to remove the ignition key cylinder??? cause I can't remove it; I don't know how!!!

  • @regaljh thanks!!! man I fixed already... it was a little bit hard, but I did it...jeje.. thanks for all... bye

  • My 2000 buick regal is doing the same thing but at my auto parts store there are 2 options for the ignition switch. One is where the key actually goes into or the part under the column. Im guessing its under the column is that correct.

  • @joskline You want the one that goes under the column. I used STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS US264.

  • My ignition switch is bad, too. I got to change it out. I have a '99 Buick Regal LS. In the defense of GM, which I don't like to do, I think they really don't have to make a recall, because the driver can maintain control of the vehicle and turn on hazards and come to a slow stop. However, one could possibly get into a situation on the freeway where one wouldn't make it to the shoulder and stop in the middle of the road! However, that's a slim chance if one is going 55+ MPH.

  • @cpp1 Our Buick Regal LS did this just today!~ This has got to be faulty manufacturing, since so many have the same problem with a part that gets minimal wear and tear, and no user road damage due to misuse.

  • I would have to say replace the ignition switch and everything will be great.

  • @TheWhatupbud How many zip ties do I need to make it great?
