When this song came out as a single, I must have been a senior in high school or something around that time. I never really got into listening to much of tbs but I always really liked the song. Now that I'm 25, the lyrics finally make sense to me because I can flawlessly apply them to my own current experiences. My Pandora channel knew just the right song to play to make me feel like I'm not the only weirdo who's ever been in a predicament like mine.
