  • WTF ? this has a great acceleration than my 70cc :S LOL

  • how many tooth flywheel

  • @wweraw5678 153 teeth, see the description on our other starter bike video for more info.

  • muuuwaaawaawawahahaha no controller, just on/off switch !LOLLL !

  • that thing got sum torque!

  • Due to the tight winding on the motor, wouldn't it burn out quickly? Just curious. Also, why didn't you just go with a regular electric motor... :) Neat stuff.

  • @backyardsounds they probably last about 100 hours @ 12V. the flexplate makes the drivetrain cheap, simple, and reliable.

  • have you tried controlling the amps using a lm555 and varying the cycle duty form 0 % to 100% using sinewave dc pulse? i am seriously thinking about a starter motor and a 200ah 12v battery ^^

  • OK..DEATH TRAP!! ha ha,,,Looks like a fuckin BLAST!!

  • yu know this guy has a video titled " water cooled car starter electric bike"

and if i do this I wont have to ask my dad to take me to atouzone every 15 minutes

  • @djfantom205 they normally last for months of hard use before burning out.

  • i dont knew that can wheel :D

  • you can get a 12v potentiometer for boats and such for a throttle

  • that must be a dodge starter rreeeeeereerrreeerrererreee

  • nope, big block chevy

  • @pontoontodd I knew it

  • awesome

  • LOL, I made a 3 wheel standup cart with the same gear, I found out real quick that a starter motor is not made for this....FRY !

  • they usually last a few months if you ride often, when it burns out just take it back for your free replacement!

  • great thing

  • i was thinking of doing the same thing on my bike but i was wondering if you needed to use a car battery for the starter motor, or possible something smaller?

  • anything 12V will work, just won't last as long.

  • i want one of those motors where could i get one

  • lol at torque

  • Wheely bar

  • was that grinding ???

  • the gears make a lot of noise, especially when they're not aligned quite right.

  • hey just wondering, i saw a thing on the internet on how to MODIFY a starter motor for something like what youve got here, i was wondering if you modified the starter at all, and did u use car batteries, if not what type

  • just normal starters and car batteries.

  • i thought it was high torque low rpm. How come you geared it and it still went fast?

  • it uses a standard flexplate that would be on the engine. so you get a lot of torque multiplication and it gets up to a few hundred RPM.

  • waaay too much power, did he use a controller or resistor???

and i guess ice doesnt help

  • it's just on or off.

  • sweeeeeeeeet

  • A ha ha ha that looks amazing! I have a pretty big starter motor at home and a crap bike, plus an empty summer ahead...

  • I hope u used an optima gel battery.

  • for how long can you let it run? and how many AH does the battery has? cool design

  • 20+ minutes in the snow. 60+ in the summer. half that with the single battery.

    110 minute reserve capacity.

  • I would cry if i were the battery

  • how much did the motor cost?

and how much was the gear ratio? 72-12?

  • $70 at autozone w/ core charge and lifetime warranty.

standard 153 tooth flexplate, starter pinion has maybe 7 teeth?

  • thanks

that has alot of torque lol

  • Gosto de ver veículos elétricos em ação. E quanto ação hein!!!

  • Que gambiarra do capeta. Se eu tenho uma bicicleta é porque quero pedalar, quando não quero pedalar ando de moto.

  • I bet that will pull you up a steep hill with no problem!

  • Is that a basic flywheel you are using as the gear? Was it easy to mount or did you have to weld it into place? Can you give us a few ideas on how you put it together? Looks like a racing machine to me. Good job.

  • it's a flexplate for an automatic transmission.

we machined a hub for that which we welded onto the bike wheel. the one on the BMX bolted through the plastic wheel.

there is a fair amount of fabrication involved in the motor and battery mounts.

  • looks like fuckin fun!

  • the bronko!!! XD

    POWERFULL JEJEJE

  • what did you use to "switch on" the power? is it "on-off" or does the power come on gradually?

  • heavy duty push button (on-off)

  • best idea ever! haha

  • That's a lot of torque...awesome video! I thought starter motors couldn't be used for continuous use. Do they heat up?

  • it gets hot, but when it burns out you just take it back to autozone and get a free replacement.

  • lmao

  • @pontoontodd are you kidding

  • thats so cool!!!!

  • How much do you pay for the starter motor(s)?

  • $70 w/ core charge and lifetime warranty. consider it a one time cost.

  • How long till starter motor burns up?

  • a month to a year depending on how much you ride it.

  • Thanx, great bikes!!

  • Green practical transpo right there...

  • can you ride it continuously, or would the solenoid overheat?

  • you can basically keep going until the batteries die.

  • Nice work, how long does the battery last?

  • 20+ minutes in the snow. 60+ in the summer. half that with the single battery.

  • Nice drifting! Keep it up

  • I love shit like this! Awesome engineering! Post another vid after the snow melts (If you're still alive)
