You can't say without the stones there would be no U2. I mean U2 was a cover band for the stones and the beatles, but if you think about it U2 would have formed anyways and I truly believe they would've because they were meant to be the greatest. Of course, any significant musician/band impacts (in this case, Rock) music, which constantly evolves. I like U2, Bono has a great voice & charisma. But the key point is: The Rolling Stones were at the Pinacle of Rock& Roll when it was starting, and have maintained their success & inovation for decades. U2 is a fine band.

You can't say without the stones there would be no U2. I mean U2 was a cover band for the stones and the beatles, but if you think about it U2 would have formed anyways and I truly believe they would've because they were meant to be the greatest. They always were. As soon as the Joshua Tree was released and I still haven't found what I'm looking for came out, at that very moment U2 took over as God's band and the greatest. The stones could never create anything so meaningful or perfect.

FYI, one of my fav films, Goodfellas, has a terrific score - Director uses alot of the Stones in his films. Re: money - this can be a barometer of success, however, the Stones out-class U2. The Stones made plenty of money; I'm sure they're STILL making plenty of money, while sitting on their a#s.es. U2 is a fine band. However U2 they did not influence R&R in the way the Stones have.

are you people serious? I love the stones as much as the next guy but this performance is simply embarrassing. If you watch it on HBO with better quality you'd see just how terrible this singing is...embarrassing...
