  • The "Cool" is just oozing out of this!! Too much in one room! Music for the big boys!

  • dude awesome thank you for posting.

  • this is what introduced me to Robert Fripp...

  • robert fripp is a monster

  • @WesB

Why not. They shoud work together

  • I owe all my thanks to JPJ's parents for getting together and making "one" of the best musicians to exist.

  • fuck this sweeet

  • fripppppppppppppp

  • must get this album now . . . now . . .

  • This fucking rocks ! good ol' JPJ !! thanks for the post !

  • I see two psychos don't like this-Hmmmmm, well, I guess some people can't handle anything more complicated than Lil' Wayne :)

  • John Primus Jones hehehehe

  • wonderber!

  • HOT

  • Is it me or there is a similarity with this and Fight Like A Brave by RHCP

  • Hey, thanks for posting this. I've got Zooma already, but stumbled onto this and I think I'll be pickin" it up for sure. This definitely jams! Amazing, high-caliber musician.

  • Gran pezzo! Il bassista dei Led Zeppelin col chitarrista dei King Crimson!!!!!!

  • This is me, says JPJ and guide us to over the rainbow. (Where are the other guys?)

  • OK, off youtube and gone 2 ebay or somewhere online to find JPJ CD's awesome song... hope its all like this....so underrated as a musician.... this guy still rocks like hell , thanks for the video

  • JPJ is fucking insane, in a bad ass way. He knows no fucking bounds on bass, or music for that matter

  • JPJ puts Jimmy page to shame!

  • robert fripp is the F*CKING MAN! nuff said. and i cant believe i just found this music, when the hell did this come out? i used to be a zepaholic, and then got turned to the crimson side in my latter years.

  • 'labeled' that is

  • Alot of Led Zeppelin fans don't want to hear that Zep were a progressive rock band , but to me they had alotmore in common with the bands that had been laneled 'prog rock' than with any of the other heavy rock bands at the time. Particularly in the mid and late 70s half of their career

  • why plague doctors ?

  • @QuinzPL

Because Plague Doctors are kickass. Like JPJ.

  • he NEEDS to tour this album! wish i had the skills to play a 12 string lap steel bass o.0'

  • I cum everytime I hear this song.

  • Fripp was a good teacher for Omar Rodriguez

  • @NoGoats LOL

  • I know....this comment is out of place.

  • But it is true!

Robert Fripp is a guy whoappears to be one of the most important guitarrist in a lot of scenes...even in the present

  • Try JPJ ripping through the lead line from Black dog- on a lap steel, with Nick Beggs on bass and Jason Bonham on drums-That was the support for King Crimson in Studio City,LA...Yeow!!!

  • @Sparkles713 you mean his tour back in 2000/1 ? 'Cause that was Terl Bryant on drums. ;)

Still you're so lucky to see JPJ live.. I hope I'll get the chance too sometime!

  • when did this come out?

  • @boibad12 2001

  • The last picture like he is finishing a joint... ahahahah

  • John Paul Jones is BADASS.

  • funk, the bass sound soooo cooool, imagine see this man play live and loud...

  • wonderful. I always thought Fripp could give Page a few lessons, myself.

  • Fucking hell!! Fripp and Jones in one song!

  • jpj ur sick

  • I have to buy this album I swear.

I think John Paul Jones is the only member of Led Zeppelin whose solo career I actually like.

I adore them altogether, though. D:

  • good job John!

  • best james page solo ever lol and believe me i love me some jimmy truth be known hendrix and mr page knew it too robert fripp is the shiznitt woot woot thank you for posting eddie

  • Again, very influenced by Robert Fripp and his King Crimson.

  • great... more like jazz than rock...

  • let`s face it: by the time of this second solo album, JPJ was running out of ideas.

case in point: "leafy meadows" sounds so similar to stuff like "snake eyes" and "nosumi blues" on zooma, it`s almost embarassing. the only difference is, the two former tracks were better.

however, don`t take my word for it, ask the master himself. why I wonder hasn`t he released any more albums since 2001? ;-)

  • where 's your album , rock star ?

  • @shotdonkey Running out of ideas? Hahahahaha. And he is still releasing albums today. Ever hear of Them Crooked Vultures?

  • the pic at 2:21 is him on song remains the same

  • standing ovae! jpj your the man but im sure you probly knew that greatest bass player of all time and probly the best to ever bang the key boards as well. All around great musician

  • Awesome. My favorite bassist and guitarist in one recording. I've always thought JPJ was the one of gave Zeppelin that proggy edge demonstrated in songs such as Kashmir, No Quarter, etc.

  • take a bow mr jones . amazing !!!!

  • completely awesome

  • For sure, Jimmy and Robert did most the writing, but JPJ was holding it together, giving it direction, ect. Need proof? Listen to "Walking into Clarksdale" A couple of decent tunes, but pretty boring and messy overall.

  • most of jimmy page and robert plant stuff during led zeppelin live was messy

  • Sooooooo gooood.

  • great stuff !!!!

  • bad ass. his two solo albums kick more than anything page and plant did post zepp combined.

  • You're damn right, this magnificent work shows who was the real soul of Led Zeppelin, Plant gave the voice, Page the guitar, but John definetly gave the composition and the complexity of that unique sound for most of their songs ...

  • mmm I love all 4 of zep but without Pagey they made In throught the out door...not the best album in the world...

lets say that all 4 together where just Magic ;)

  • Where have you been? All four made In Through the Out Door

  • @VelvetPunk4life page and bonham were not as involved in the album as they were with previous recordings. Page would just come late at night and work on the stuff plant and jones had already done over the week or something. He didn't put so much of himself into the album, neither did bonham

  • well who was playing those wicked solos on ITTOD , I ask ?

  • fuck... YEAH!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing guy mr jones

  • Every time I hear JPJ on the 8-string bass, I have to fight the urge to run out and buy one myself. There aren't many great players out there - JPJ, Tom Peterson, Narucho, Doug Pinnick are the only ones I can think of right now. It's a great instrument for power trios. 8)

  • what about Les Claypool from Primus :)

the man is a god indeed!

  • Les is a star ... but I haven't heard him on an 8-string yet. That would be something to hear!

  • He plays 8 strings to. The man plays just about any type of bass you can name.

  • John Entwistle played an 8 string from time to time on recordings.

  • he was a bad bad man

  • so damn grovvy

  • JPJ your my fuckin' hero way to undervalued in popularity for a guy that plays 15 instruments and was part of the greatest rock 'n' roll band of all time

  • The Crimson King Meets Zepp. I never imagined such thing even in my wildest dreams!

Great tune :) , love the bass groove, has a lot of energy.

  • thank you eddie the invisible dude. now i got some fresh stuff to overdose on ...every one 'rock till you drop' ...later for all that ,four chord, no riff. no balls, no imagination, 8th note boring crap most record companies are shuving down our throaghts nowdays..ooff ..what a relief...

  • great john paul jones track! by the way did anyone hear about the Dem Crooked Vultures show that's happening in chicago at the metro? at midnight over lollapalooza weekend on sunday the much rumored and highly anticipated collab between john paul jones, dave ghrol and josh homme will be playing! it sold out today a MINUTE after going on sale! goddamn that show is gonna be fierce!

  • just heard a rough recording of Vultures "dead end friends " on youtube from theit second show. It is a seriously heavy and obviously Jones flavored bass groove. Shockingly good from waht I can tell ...peace .pbr

  • VERY EXCELLENT UPLOAD AND TUNE !!

  • Ah... 2 of my favorite musicians.. Fripp & JPJ. :)

  • I love the groove in this song! It's just so sexy :)

  • I love this song!

  • This song is sick! I love it. Why don't I own this album yet?

  • You better buy it quick :P It's freaking awesome!

Especially this song, is there anyone who doesn't love it? It's really amazing.

  • i wonder to my self the same u think they got it at best buy

  • John Paul Jones = God

  • Fripp's soloing is extraordinary!

  • i luv that old man...

  • This is AWESOME music, I wonder how they came up with these songs

  • Alot of those awesome Zep grooves were born from JPJ grooves and riffs in rehearsal and improv .The man is a composer in the truest sense.A virtuoso.Thank god he likes to play loud and still likes a heavy groove.

  • Good, 4 was amazing, but I'm staying with Bonham.

  • God, I gotta get this album.

  • what a groove :) fantastic :) another must buy :)

  • Jones is God!

  • Comment removed

  • This is THE music,baby!

  • This reminds me of the wanton song...

  • almighty JPJ, ZEP rules1
