OK I want to record Game footage with this, will it work or should I go to something like fraps?

@34531396 it won't work smoothly. It records like 10 fps in games that I get 100 fps. You should try something like a pirated ZD soft Screenrecorder. Fraps will also do, but the filesize is too big for my 500gb HDD to record gameplay

@TheOpzor The problem is that I can't do that while in-game. And to record a good tutorial / gameplay I'd need at least 50 GB Free, which I don't personaly. Not to mention the space needed for recordings that were not good. When I do use fraps, I like to compress the final product and keep everything uncompressed since then.

I've tried every possible ways to reduce the amount of lag when I'm recording, but I can't stop the lag. I put the bitrate to 20,000, but I don't know what can fix it. Are there any other ways?

@ppiittyy1004 yes, movie maker does have issues with divx codecs. Try getting something better like Sony Vegas 10. I got it from Piratebay (.) org

@ppiittyy1004 it is not a recording software. it's a video editing program... it will read the codec that camstudio uses (DivX) Use Vegas insteam of movie maker.

@TheDarkmohha that is a problem that doesn't really have a 100% effective solution. Uninstall the codec and install it from dviX official site.

@terorvlad Alright. When I changed the settings under video options. I change my settings to the way you have them in the tutorial. Then I change the region to full screen. I press record and get an error "Error creating AVI file". It's pointless for me to even have the program if I can't use it in full screen. I've even tried manually inputting my screen size. Still the same error.

This vid was done on a 1.6 Ghz cpu, you can imagine the fps on your cpu :D

The file C:\Users\JIMMY DAO\Documents\HD Options.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
