This song was out around the same time as Biggie Smalls "Big Poppa" song using samples from the same song "between the sheets" and both have completely different sound... It wasn't about who had the hottest beat... It was about how you flipped it... The same beats got used over and over again and it was OK... I think Keith Murray's song was out around this time too
