This looks poorly animated. I like some aspects of it...but then I don't. A lot of 80's cartoons are getting make overs...sigh what was wrong with the originals (although the new thundercats is pretty good). Rainbowbrite, She-Ra, Strawberry Shortcake these 80's cartoon had female leads. Females doing their own thing and they didn't look stupid or act it. Some great writing. The woman who wrote Jem's story lines also did G.I.Joes. SIGH.

@Christa4ever This "faceless Villainess" is the Dark Princess from the movie, Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer. I think they mention that somewhere in the video. It IS canon, unfortunately they don't bother to animate her. Aside from that, you're right, this "return to rainbowland" is abysmal.
@AlienAbandoned You're right. I just rewatched it and yes they do say it's the Dark Princess. This reboot could have been so amazing. If you go onto deviant art and type in Rainbow bright there are countless redesign are awesome to look at. And every single one hundred times better than what they produced here. :sigh: Maybe for the thirty year anniversary they'll get it right, assuming they attempt anything at all.

Rainbow Brite should have never turned into this teen girl with cheap animation...you'd think with the technology we have they could have made her look true to the original yet still have their "modern" look and....idk....maybe tried to make it look half way decent...this is just a sad sad remake of a great 80's cartoon...what's next?
