  • we need some more "Relevant" still images if you catch my drift....

  • cool

  • So, a guy walks into a booking agency with his family and a dog...

  • @D3maine argh can you finish that? i dont know what youre getting at with that joke and i will die of a brain tumor if i keep trying to figure that out xD

  • ( . ) ( . )

  • I'm glad this song is not called salty knockers, cuz that would just be weird.

  • 5:51 FTW

  • @KarateMastR57

Knowledge is what helps you write great songs, some have that knowledge down to a science, others choose to remain in the dark and reinvent the same shit over and over again without realizing it and that ruins it for me every time.

  • Yep..bought the album as a pre-release and downloaded the day it became available from the website...thank you Guitar Player for making me aware of this BAND!

  • Saw these guys up close and personal in San Francisco and I have to say it's a tie with Zappa as the best band I ever saw!

The interplay between these 3 guys is unreal. I really hope they stick together and put out many more albums!

  • Boobs or balls?

  • @maneatingtoilets Can't we have both?

  • its pretty good for wanker shit. that scotsman can play a bit of guitar. i wouldnt want to hear it over and over though. makes my head go popsicles. cp

  • @kneeback Wanker shit, ya you just let us all know when you can wank like that

  • @fluffypopcicle you're overreacting Bro.. just chill and listen to some music...

(Theory is good, but once you have many many theories in your head, its hard to "play the bad sounding note" because it doesn't match the knowledge. Without certain "restrictions" of theories, you couldn't care less and just experiment every other combination there is..)

  • @BkkCheesepie good point. this is what I also believe, ignorance is a bless sometimes.

  • @BkkCheesepie bro theory is not set in stone rules , it's just that theory it's all about what sounds good to the human ear. It's inportant to learn the rules of theory , in no theory textbook will it say that you can't break the rules. Infact theory changes with every generation and musical period ex ( classical , romantic). it's still very inportant.

  • @rocker100991 I think a lot of people mistake the word 'theory' for 'the rules'. Musical theory simply gives names to different musical ideas. There are no rules, at all. Which is awesome.

  • A Yank, A Kraut, and a Brit.

Yet they all speak the international language of loving sweaty knockers.

  • I for one think Marco Minnemann should have been the drummer of DT. His "I have fun while playing" image is better for me than Mangini's " Im a fucking prof at Berkeley, I can play anything" vibe.

  • tres tres bon les gars sont de super musiciens.....c'est la perfection!!!!!!

  • @francisco444 I think it's a top secret information

  • 0:40 - 0:43 I'm pretty sure I have heard that MULTIPLE times in John Petrucci's discography.

  • @Fluffypopcicle multiple times in rock music you mean. Van Halen - Panama used it long before JP did.

  • @francisco444

Well, not exactly. They weren't the exact same notes and even if they were they were used in a completely different way.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Is a famous rock guitar chord was all I was saying..

  • @francisco444

Well, not necessarily. If it was played like a chord it would sound like shit lol.

  • @Fluffypopcicle You've heard it everywhere. Van Halen, Vai, Satch, Petrucci, Guthrie - it's hardly a groundbreaking chord...

  • @kirkhetfieldtrujillo

I never said that it was and no, Van Halen did not use that specific chord and it would sound like shit if it was used like a chord.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Hey dude, just chill. Van Halen did use that chord. If it sounded like shit then why is it used rock songs? stop trying to outsmart everyone and commenting so much or comment about something else.

  • @francisco444

*Face palm* that's not what I meant. No, it's not the same chord. The Van Halen chord is an open high Eb a D on the Bb string (4th fret), and an A# on the Gb (also fourth fret). If you strum this chord (what I meant by playing like a chord was strumming it and not breaking it up) it sounds decent. The chord in this videos is an open high E an open B and a Bb (on the G string and 4th fret). This sounds like shit strummed as a chord. They're different chords.

  • @Fluffypopcicle chaotemagick3 got it right. Thats the chord used, not what your posting. Is in the bridge of Panama

  • @francisco444

I don't know what the fuck "244300" is. The chords I said were correct and if you're talking about the chord from 2:30 - 2:31 then that is still a one note difference. that chord is open Eb open Bb and then a G# on the Gb string (on the second fret). Btw I screwed up on the second chord in my last comment. I meant say 3rd fret on the G string, not 4th.

  • @Fluffypopcicle fuck all that bullshit theory

  • @1whitebuddah

Well, if you're too inexperienced to understand that damn simple then you shouldn't be talking smack about any musician or any comment revolving around theory of any sort. This is some pretty damn simple theory. You could learn it less than an hour if you're smart.

  • @Fluffypopcicle i understand allot more theory than you think, i just prefer writing music without the knowledge of theory to feel less restricted and more natural in my songwriting. anyway i was only joking, of course theory is very important when it comes to improvising and knowing which scale to play over what chord and what not. i don't think its because i'm unintelligent that i don't know much theory i just don't have the patience to learn it

  • @1whitebuddah

Of course, but there comes a point where I write something too complicated to play over by just guessing by ear so I have to examine the chords I play to figure out the best scales to play over them. I also tend to play in very odd time signatures and have to figure out what I'm playing in for obvious reasons.

  • @1whitebuddah Sorry, must insert myself into debate here....You sound too alibicionist (no punt intended) If you want to build a rocket that flies, you must know the theory inside out so you transform your imagination into action. Many cannot enhance their imagination with theory knowledge but nobody can imagine bigger things without mastering the theory. Imagination without knowledge is very naive and child like. Talent with no background buildup means nothing. No patience? Lame excuse...

  • @Fluffypopcicle yeah the chord is 244300, rush uses it all the time & opeth just used it on the song the devil's orchard. pretty badass chord

  • @Fluffypopcicle jup rush used it to. was thinking the same thing of the way is was arpeggiated

  • @slashy04

Rush has probably used a few times too. Rush was Dream Theater's biggest influence after all so it's pretty obvious that Petrucci would end up using it too.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Yes!

  • Saw this live last night; Life changed forever.

  • Full tab will be available from missmisstreater transcriptions soon - find me on FB

  • Tits!

  • amazing riff

  • @planet10 - Thanks for the stellar recording of these amazing musicians! I really dig this CD. I bought it directly off the website and encourage everybody else out there to do the same so that these guys will be able to record lots more. Somehow I think Guthrie Marco and Bryan have a lot more great material where this came from. Again, you did a fantastic job with the recording and I hope to hear lots more from these guys!

  • sounds like can can

  • dude cool video, some of your pictures you have on here are from my studio. i am the engineer who recorded this record. GOOD JOB!!

  • @planet10 Nice to meet you man. Thanks, I tried my best to do a proper video to the song. And GREAT JOB! to you my friend. I've been listening to the album non-stop, great recording man. It has a "live" vibe to it, very raw tunes. Hey do you know what guitar Guthrie used for "Bad Asteroid"?

  • @planet10 Good on you man for letting this dude know he did a good job.

Awesome production its fair popping out of my speakers and its crystal! Bad ass rhythm section. Hopefully he comes to New Zealand one day.

  • remindsme of The Spin Doctors without vocals.
