The best lineup Conan OBrien ever had was (I believe) Tom Selleck, Marylin Manson, and Mick Foley. Either that or Tom Selleck and the Big Show. It's been a while since I've seen it. :(
All I remember is when the Big Show was on and tickled Conan. That was friggin awesome....

Maybe because he present a "I'm gonna do it my way" kind of attitude. He strives for a edgy appeal.
So yeah...directing a person that presents a persona of "I'm doing things my way" may seem a bit daunting until you meet them and realize that in his case it is mostly an act (and it isn't an act for all celbrities). Additionally Snoop is honestly a higher powered star in his genre than either Donald Trump or Gene Simmons.
