No weddings are legally binding, not even "Christian" ones. You still have to go and get a marriage license at city hall no matter what.

It's not fake. The couple clearly stated they had no religion. It's just a style of wedding. If they had chosen the Japanese style wedding, you would still call it fake since most Japanese don't believe in Shinto, either.

If this is fake, what about politicians who pretend to believe in God just to win votes? What about those who go to church to look like church-going people? What about those who say "Oh my God!" without believing in God? After all, religion itself is fake.

I think you are calling it fake without a real understanding of why people get married publicly in the first place.They are choosing to make a commitment to each other before God and man to become a husband and wife.There is nothing fake about that.I feel you might be just looking at them as 'Japanese' and not just people like everyone else.

What would make it any different from an American couple who want to get married in a chapel in American even though they aren't Christian?Is that fake too?
