is it true that if you get a 3.00 inlet 2.5 outlet, instead of the 2.5 inlet 2.25 outlet, that the 3.00 inlet is louder. Someone told me it was louder because it was bigger and im just wondering if this is true?
@PatriotsFanX9 just a heads up, with the set up here I had just enough back pressure, some will say not enough, bigger pipe will just be less resistance and back pressure. Considering the stock single exhaust is 2 1/4 i think the upgrade to 2 1/2 into two 2 1/4 is an improvement, Bigger is not always better, and the smaller the pipe the more "rap" you will get

You would be suprised from the difference with and without, i had the same cherry bomb with them and after i took them off it made a difference because of the flow
i have a 94 f150 same motor, did you have to do anything special to run it without cats? i like how it sounds and if i doesn't run like shit without the cats i might just straight pipe it all the way back. let me know
It was a little bit of work. First off you have to relocate the o2 sensor before the cats, and since its before them i didnt get any check engine codes with the cats off.
Next, there is the air injector tube on my truck, that had to be taken completely off, all the way to the air pump, and the back side of the motor. We welded off the cross-over tube, to plug it, and just pluged the air pump, and just like that the emissions stuff was gone. Takes a little work and time, because we didnt know about these things before i started, but its a great system.
@mtfd7323 Any muffler you put behind there will sound silent.
YOu have to cut off that factory 2nd cat and run 3" off the inlet pipe which will be very short but if you butt weld it or use a band clamp it will be fine.
on the 5.0 trucks you have to get rid of that 2nd cat, It actually sounds good with straight pipe running off the back of that 2nd cat. but this is the cheap man's way out. The factory 5.0 trucks have very restrictive quiet exahusts.
It has dual pipes, therefore it's dual exhaust. Since the exhaust does merge at a point it's not true duals but it is still duals. And a crossover (H-pipe, X-pipe, Mac Prochamber) don't count as a merge such as a y-pipe so it turns into single exhaust does.
Thanks for all the great comments. I think you will all be shocked to hear i did this whole system myself for under $250. The muffler is the most expensive part! $50 at autozone so i didnt pay for shipping. O by the way the 4in. tips are going on in the spring. Thank you everybody.

@ereece09 you do not need any backpressure at all! you want to make as little resistance as possible for your exhaust gases come out freely.

you need backpressure for a 5.0 with nothing done to it, so dont take them off unless you wanna lose performance for sound
