It doesnt matter what a reviewer said. rearmed and the NES version are two different games in terms of gameplay, story and music. It's not a change for the bad though. The furthest these kind of games get now is the indiemarket.

So supposedly Bionic Commando is a sequel to the game Commando, which doesn't make much sense. Sure both games are made by Capcom and they both have the word "commando" in the title, but the game play is totally different. Commando is an Ikari Warriors-ish overhead view game, whereas Bionic Commando is a Side Scroller....then again i guess the same could be said for Zelda and Zelda II>

I mean, i'm really addicted to this game! I love how you can only use the grapple to swing around, and the way you use it... Well, no words. Bionic Commando just pwned in almost all games of it's series. (Even the full 3D one! I had fun playing it, multiplayer and all.)

Well, I was introduced to the series through Rearmed.

Then i proceeded to play the classic, and everything i learned in Rearmed worked well in my Classic playthrough. Of course, the gameplay feels a little different.

Classic = Stiff but precise movement; Rearmed = Smoother and floatier movement. You can do that boost trick (launch the grapple on the underside of your platform after dropping out of it, to swing.) pretty easily, while on classic you need to be FASTER.

Unfortunately there was time wasted on level 5 - you don't need to communicate, you can simply enter the communication room and leave immediately. Your character will still progress through the level and the door won't be locked at the top.

as a 14 year old who is "supposed" to like games like call of duty and that crap. Everyone today plays online on black ops and halo, were in fps oversaturation. Call of duty is great but of all those games, I STILL play bionic commando on the NES and A whole bunch of other games. who cares about graphics and the number 1080p. Its all about the game inside the wrapping. Mario, megaman, and a whole bunch of other games. now we are oversaturated with graphics and I HATE THAT.

@GamerNinjaX As one who has been gaming since the days of the SNES, I am very happy to hear that there are those who were introduced to gaming after the target audience shifted to FPS nuts but still appreciate that there is a game behind the fancy graphics and hardcore "action". There have been a lot of great games in history and Bionic Commando, which I only played literally days ago, is definitely one of them.

Hah, this game has some useless bosses, really, like Area 4's.  The only way he could hurt you with his little hook he shoots upwards, and that only pushes you. It was advised for you to attack him from behind, but doing so was a waste of time when you could just go across and shoot the computer.

Rearmed is one of the best remakes ever made.Updated graphics, kept true to the original gameplay, added co-op, and the music was remixed from its 8-bit counterpart. I don't really understand why some people call Bionic Commando the sequel to the NES game Commando. @HelloFade2 : Maybe since CAPCOM calls it to be the sequel on their homepage making it the official sequel? ;-) In the NES/Rearmed version you save "Super Joe". You meet him some years later in the PS3 version betraying you since he changed ideology/sides. There is indeed a story link in between the 2 games and if CAPCOM tells BC is concidered a sequel it is one in my opinion.

One of the best NES games. I used to play this, and Crystalis, and Faxanadu. The end is pretty dumb though, you fall down a pit, and have to hit the cockpit of a helicopter, with one shot, one chance, or you die. My only small problem with the game.

The only pain was starting world 6 and world 9 (i think) with the wrong gun and you couldn't leave the level.

i know that you can erase permanent marker on a white board with white board dry erase markers. i learned that in school. ;). try crossing out the name with a white board marker then wipe it off. it might work. it should work.

in this game the stages were fantastics, your weapons quite sophisticated, your enemies a real challenge and the music on those transfer areas... just an amazing ice-cool spys tune. Even if it took me an eternity to finish this game, I really loved the experience.
