@marcgrantisdope It is called a Harmon Mute. Or a Wah-wah mute. The brand he playing on is Tom Crown. He is playing with the stem out. There is a removable stem that comes with the mute. Playing without it gives it a different timbre to the sound. I am in my senior year of music education, and my principal instrument is the trumpet. So I know what I am talking about, in case you had doubts.

It's called a harmon or wah-wah mute. By the way James (trumpet player) I would suggest leaving the stem in when playing songs like this. Unstemmed is more for jazz playing. Great cover though
