Hello! While I understand your concern, Dickie himself chose to return the bass to me, and wanted me to begin taking it apart to incorporate into some future projects we had been planning together- integrating these into a few new designs. When I received it, it was taken apart to begin these projects. Sadly, he passed before we could complete them. These were his direct wishes, and the original bass no longer exists in the form in which I originally fashioned it for him. (continued)
pt.2 Had he lived, he would have gotten his NEW bass. Also, there were other items he expressed he wanted me to have, which will never find their way to me I am sure. It is a shame that Dickie passed before he could make these disseminations. I do have on tape plans that Dickie intended for some of his personal belongings he wished to be sent to me. I think the most important thing would be for everyone to remember him, rather than tussling over material things. He never would have wanted that.
Lastly, in one of our final conversations in September before he died, he told me that if he didn't get better that I should keep the new bass. he never mentioned family or a grandchild. I have given him many things over the years I knew him and would fill that wish if he asked. Rose told me that his daughter should have a bass since she's the only one that doesn't. Why not give the kid his real bass? Or his car? His poster collection? Clothes? Things that were important to him.
Upppsss! Again is one good guy gone. BC was one of my first bands i ve seen and i never forgot them all the years. But now i hear that Dickie is gone- my god- what a great rock-band you have in the meantime in heaven. The starway is full of great names. There must be a never ending party! R.I.P.
I'm deeply saddened by the passing of a friend and the hardest rocking guy I've ever met. Rest in peace Dickie. Your memory will live on strong in those of us that were inspired by your artistry.
Hey, if you are who I think you are....I was supposed to go and meet you when I was out there but we didn't have time. You know I'd give anything to go back to that weekend! I have a big emptiness with him gone as I'm sure you do. Thanks for writing! We'll have to talk sometime!
Nice, Dickie! Killer bass! Mahogany's the best choice for classic tone and power! I would pretty much do the same. Nice idea for the select as the knob. I always felt that too much in the control cavity takes away from the tone...especially active electronics! The amp does the shaping! Hope you're diggin' it!
Dickie Peterson is a really good bass player, e.g. his bass playing on the fourth Blue Cheer album which really swings. I love his vocals too. Hell of a good player.
There's a brand new amphitheatre in Orange Beach Alabama called the Wharf and you guys should definitely play there. It holds 10,000Please come and play!!!
Dickey I fucking love Blue Cheeer!! I wasn't born until 1974, but I first heard your music when I was in the second grade. Blue cheer was and is still so hard and heavy. You guys are definitely the original pioneers of heavy metal. Please come to Pensacola Florida. Alot of fans here!!!!!
I had no idea my elementary school principal lived a secondary life in the 60s. It was a privilege to be a part of Dickie's life. WTG Dickie, you rock!! Come to Prairie's Edge Casino in Granite Falls, MN!! ROAD TRIP!!
WOW ..you don't see this everyday!..I was into blue Cheer since their first album..I was about 10 years old then..Wasn't NUTHin' else like these guys then!
Dickie Peterson has been such an influence on my bass playing, I'm glad to see him getting his own custom bass. Blue cheer needs to come to indiana or ohio on their next tour. I would love to see blue cheer live, i'm only 15 and their music has stood the test of time. I remember when my dad told me to check them out and i have been hooked to their music since
Awesome vid!,...Blue Cheer has always been one of my favorite bands,..this band evolved with time. Blue Cheer sweeps the floor with any of any of today's garbage bands.
i saw blue cheer in pittsburgh recently and dickie was cool enough to hang out and talk after the show he signed my shirt and told us about his cadillac and man he is just a cool dude to talk to sharing stories but unfortunatly the rex security kicked us out cause they had to close it was like whats the fuckin rush were hangin with a rock legend on a saturday and you wanna kick us out oh well cool to meet dickie and now see his car which he talked about "we're blue cheer and this is what we do"
Cannot wait to see the great BLUE CHEER in Dekalb Illinois 11/16/07 at OTTO"s....about 60miles west of Chicago., my hometown....funny but now looking back, after listening to em after 40 yrs, finally getting to see em....awesome!
Such a fucking crock of shit- metal greats like him die and we hear almost nothing about it
