first heard this being dropped to a mates house by my godbrother and his mates on their way to do something. didn't appreciate it at the time but looking back, this was the perfect soundtrack to being in a bashed up hatchback at night in the worst parts of the city. good times, i guess.
My Friend is Selling that Musical pocket Watch on ebay! type in the ebay search box The Musical Pocket Watch From "For a Few Dollars More" ...only one left!
I hear there is house music out there, but compared to this, damn! back in 1998 a Dj, by the name of Positive K here in South Africa did wonders with this hit> around 01:00am! one would swear, 1998 was the best year ever!
First time I heard this tune I couldn't believe what was happening, the bass wobbled my kidneys and the high notes drifted up above my head. Club 4 Life!
lol you people have no sense of music you may think its shit but thats your opinion but where is the respect for music in general, i mean think about it all the new stuff you hear today is now ripping off tunes like this old classic, its music being pushed to the edge, remember this was massive in the clubs back then and the new "shit" is massive now, RESPECT ALL MUSIC LIKE IT OR NOT
TUUUUUNE!!!! Used to get lean with some rasta geeza who used to hear this tune and in time with the music he would repeat the words " bun dat bun dat bun dat weed-smoke" untill it stopped... so funny.
@booshpower every 'urban' song that comes out now has a fucking sample from a song 10-15 years ago mate, no originality. Drum loops, voice samples, melodies and rip offs are on the radio ALL the time
@MegadriveMarty so which 'urban' songs are you referring to? lol samples were being used 10 - 15 years ago as well - early hardcore and jungle were built on break samples, and lots of people basically ripped off popular dance tracks by sampling the melody and puttting a sampled breakbeat over it. garage as well - vocal samples, and pop remixes, so i don't see your point at all
@MegadriveMarty give us some examples of 'modern urban' then. maybe US urban music is shit nowadays but the UK still has a lot going on, and pirate radio is still playing new good stuff. you're extremely narrow minded for saying it's shit especially if you don't know anything about it.....
@booshpower Ok what about the rip off of 'ur not alone' not so long ago, the rip off of whitetowns 'your woman', that shit 'im blue' by whoever. Plus now funky house music is 'urban', SINCE FUCKING WHEN!
@MegadriveMarty lol you're talking about the mainstream stuff. there were just as many garage remixes and rip offs of pop songs back in the late 90s, nothing's changed since so stop moaning, . music evolves - uk funky is different to funky house. you're probably just some old codger who used to listen to garage and can't move on.....
anybody know where i can find more tunes like this and tunes like Double 99's Rip Grove. i like the dark warping sounds that doesn't sound overdone. any suggestions ?
@soonkome they're a bit different but when we were kickin off to this the dj always played frontier psychiatrist and bang on(propellarheads) also tina moore and a shit load of groove armada
@booshpower its just not like the garage i have heard. more like breakbeat to me. i am from scotland so i suppose all i have really heard is chessey chart garage since we dont listen to alot of garage up here
in response 2 hughgallop. they hav not tsoped making speed garage, they make it more like bassline now. i personally preferred the earlier stuff when it was more housier. its a damn shame!!!
