Is the Northern American continent rising because of the Ice Age land mass weighted the mantle down?
The western coast of Finland is one of the fastest rising areas in the world. There is a rock formation as big as under Himalaya and Andies under Fennos-Scandia. It was pushed down by the Ice Age several kilometers thick ice sheets, and has kept rising since the ice melt.
Several of Finland's west coast ports have become landlocked and new ones have been built because of the land rise.
@Aurinkohirvi That's interesting info. I believe (don't quote me) that the central and northern portions of the States are rising slightly, but not to any great extant.
The land by the northern Gulf of Bothnia near the city of Oulu rises about 1 centimeter in a year. SW Finland rises about 0,5 centimeters a year. The whole surface area of Finland increases 7 squarekilometers each year, land rising from the sea. The sea between Finland and Sweden is diminishing and in far future will disappear, while a mountain range will appear on its place.
I looked into it, also the land in Canada and Siberia rises.

I have only one question for these people and that is why do they allow corporations to move to countries with no pollution regulations from ones that made them toe the line if they are worried about pollution and global warming? Bet they dont answer that one any time too soon.
