Our Congress makes more from taxes on gas than oil companys and they do nothing to deserve it. Don't blame the oil companys, the real crooks are in Washington.

And these taxes didn't start when GW was elected as libs would have you believe. Al Gore owns plenty of oil stock as many other congressional members. American history began with GW according to them.

Also oil is the most valuable resource in the world. Your livelihood depends on it.You'd better hope people are willing to fight over it.

If war is about taking away Iraq's oil then where is the darned thing we're supposed to have????? I will gladly fill my gas tank only if I don't have to pay 3.00$ for it. On a global scale, crude oil has gone through 100US$/barrel and it was only 25% in 2003 before the invasion.

Remember that a company would not enrich itself to enrich you. They compete to enrich themselves. If an entity profits from invasion, the fact that you did not profit equally is immaterial.

If it were their interest to crank up their profit by selling oil for more, why go to Iraq at all? Rising prices sounds like a work that can be done from behind a desk. Moreover, if they didn't control any new supply, they would have BETTER reason to rise the prices.

To answer your question, Saddam was going to begin doing his oil business in Euros instead of dollars which would have had a bad effect on US oil companies.

Where's the proof muzz ? Where is the stolen oil hidden ? Definitely not in the gas pumps I visit because it's $4.02 now. And if high prices were their objective for cranking up profit, why invade Iraq? Cranking up prices can be done on the phone, behind the desk.

I agree that the Iraq invasion is about Iraqi oil. However, I think you need to take this point a little further. Understand that oil access is not about money but about stability. Specifically, stability in the U.S. Bush/Cheyney invaded Iraq for the good of the country and arguably the good of the world. Without cheap Iraqi oil i couldn't drive to work and earn a living in order to feed myself. THUS, I SUPPORT THE IRAQ INVASION.

Does anyone really believe the US could not have made a friendly little agreement with Saddam if all we cared about was oil? Does anyone seriously believe the US intends to walk out of this mess owning Iraqi oil fields? What we want is an ideologically changed Middle East. And yes stable, moderate oil prices (as in what we PAY for) would be an expected side effect. Brush the blind anger out of your eyes.
