I wonder how modern tanks could handle in a total war scenario. They're extremely complex and more expensive than any tank in WW2 and you basically have no choice but to stockpile thousands of them.

You have to look at those countries populations. For instance 20% of the Russian population is a much bigger number than say..40% of the population of The Netherlands. But of those two countries, who would have contributed more? See what I mean?

But yet its isolationist stance on a "European" war meant that planes flown to Canada had to land near the border and pulled across by tractors. Its funny becuase U.S hardly did shit to help win ww11 anyway. it was mainly russia if you research it. 80% of german army was fighting the russians. leaving 20% for US, britian, france, canada, rest of the world. and US say they won the war. Dont believe me then research all russia did and the size of battles and what they were up against that the germans threw at them. then compare it to the western front. all they had was D-day and Battle of the Bulge. @cox1356 ok if you did your research the US and british bombing campaigns were basically useless becuase Hitler had so much prestige that it didnt effect moral at all! and its IMPOSSIBLE that Russia was already losing 20:1 in manpower against the Germans. the russians had 32million soldiers in their standing army. The Germans only had 18 million at their peak! ya sure i know the russians lost untold amounts of men in ww2, in fact more than the western allies put together just at Stalingrad(next)

@cox1356 im not dissing USA here at all cuase i live here but what im trying to get at is that the war isnt won by the country that lost the least men. just seriously look it up for most famouse battles of ww2 or the biggest battles of ww2 and 75% of them are in the east. and the russians only used one tactic in ww2. send waves of tens of thousands of men into the enemy lines not caring how many were killed. its just impossible to hold a line against that. but this tactic wouldnt work today.

@cox1356 trust me dude. if it wasn't for the Normandy invasion the Russians would have had their tanks roll all the way to straight of Gibraltar (which is the most southerly tip of Spain) and like i said before all the supplies they received were trucks and some crappy guns since the 2 were already suspicious of each other. and if you would also realize USA came into europe in 1944. the russians were already kickin Germany's ass since 1942 after Stalingrad. A year after war started against them

Russian war factories were pushed beyond the limit. they had millions of t-34 tanks made in just those 4 short years and most rolled out of the factory fighting. All the Americans supplied them with were trucks and maybe some weapons but not good ones since they were already suspicious of each other but thats it

To ignore the crucial role America played in turning WW2 in the allies favor would be disgraceful. Not to mention we had no idea what Stalin had in mind with Europe.
