Okay. Its not frisbee golf if you dont play with a WHAMO frisbee (registered trademark). Its "disc golf" - Ultimate players have gotten over calling it "ultimate frisbee" bc, well, we play with disccrafts.
I have been playing for a few months now, and I had a friend who just started. He quickly adopted the tomahawk for every throw and he beats me a decent amount of the time. It's a good throw for beginners, and it's frustrating for me to watch...
Randomly ran across this one. Nice filming and good, simple, information for a beginner. I like that you didn't get into too much detail. It's just enough to wet the noobs appetite. Hopefully you've turned some people onto disc golf via your vid.
Not too bad. However, as has been pointed out, what you called a "tomahawk" is actually a thumber. And it does not "stop instantly." Overhead shots bounces and skittle more than others, and more unpredictably as well.
Great video, and i am glad you took the time to make it, call it "disc golf" and i would give it 6/5 stars, but its better then all the ppl who just sit and bitch about it, are doing right?
Hey man this is a great video....but I just want to let you know that the tomahawk throw that you show is actually called a "Thumber". A "Tomahawk" is thrown with the thumb on the top side of the disc and the two fingers on the inside rim. Not trying to be a know it all but if this video is to inform people on the basics of the Disc Golf then it needs to be correct.
I only use a driver partly because I'm a boss and the other being I'm broke.

People, people. When in doubt, ask George Castanza. And George calls it "frolf."

When you put your thumb on the bottom like what that guy did it's called a thumber...
When you put your pointer finger and middle finger on the bottom it's called a tomahawk...just sayin...

accept they are DISCS not "frisbees". the frisbee brand doesnt even make disc golf discs.

I totally agree with "behindthecamera16".. but if you are GOING to argue semantics then it isn't "accept" it is "except".
